This is a really, really good panel & thank-you (Jezebel) for helping to host it.
That was the part where it went from a heartfelt yet slightly generic apology to holy shit she just laid herself bare and put her pride away to make it right. Class act all the way.
This stood out:
Now, her fans need to support her. She heard them, now they can buy a concert ticket or stream a song instead of just singing “And I Am Telling You” at karaoke.
“You have loved me faithfully and unconditionally and for so many years you provided me with work even though my star had long since faded.”
I was seriously blown away by her apology. Class act all the way. It’s SO rare for someone to take responsibility for their actions and respond to new information with compassion, empathy and honesty. Just beautifully done.
In a way the apology is better and more humiliating to Trump than if she’d just said no in the first place.
She’s always been God to me.

Hah! Agreed. It’s just that fear and dread has brought some communities closer than others. And the American Jewish community has been unequivocal and unapologetic in its opposition to Islamophobia.

The fact they’re already calling him a “king” is fucking terrifying. The Republican party seriously thinks they’ve finally destroyed democracy badly enough that it will never recover, and they couldn’t be happier about it. And somehow are presenting it as the patriotic position.

The main takeaway from this election: the bulk of Mormons genuinely believe the ethical redlines in their scriptures, the bulk of evangelicals are exactly the craven amoral fucknuts everyone else has always suspected.
