Looks like I have a new weekend project.
I feel a little less weird now for my criticisms of that damn Camaro illustration.
I need to go drive one.
I’m glad to see that that have finally come to their senses, offering a 700+bhp car with a several thousand dollar option to properly fit wider tires for improved traction. — And all-season tires at that. Wouldn't want too much grip in warm weather, but should give it every chance to not spin in fall.
Would be the perfect car for me. My 3 year plan is to build a 13B-REW (FD RX-7 engine for non rotards) for my RX-8, and then put the 13B-MSP (SE3P/FE RX-8 engine) I recover from it, into a 1st Gen RX-7.
C-130 pilots have it best for transitioning into civil roles. I was the same way, I wanted the A-10, or to fly AH-64 helicopters. My eyes ultimately limited my potential, but at the time I was told much the same, about how they would be obsolete before I could get my boots on base.
Yes, yes, YES!
Congress has defended the A-10 over and over again. It is the Air Force nerds that keep insisting on investing in unproven, multi-billion dollar jets to replace the ole faithful, claiming it will be better though no combat data supports it. At the end of the day, what it comes down to is, we want shiny new toys.
The outside has a very strong BMW brand identity in just about every line, but the interior feels lost. I don’t see the connection back to the simpler 2002 or E30, like I used to see, even in the E9x cars. The interior, if left without a badge could just as easily be an Audi product, which is hardly an insult, but…
They didn’t want to appear derivative of Lexus.
I have a feeling that was a staged photo. Now he was very likely spraying clear at the time but his actual spray distance wasn’t framed appropriately for the photographer, so they asked him to move closer into the body of the car. </assumption>
If he had any old rotaries or an AMC Spirit SX/4 kicking around,I might be inclined to visit.
Looks are subjective, but it still looks like a Chinese hodge-podge of styling efforts, derived from several brands. It is a better effort than many others, but not quite there yet. The Toyota, Chevy, and Ford mid-size offerings are stylistically more compelling for me and mine.
It isn’t even a full-size model with illusions of Western grandeur ad badge like ‘Lariat’, ‘KingRanch’, or ‘Rodeo Belt Buckle Edition’.
For service members it is great for them to drive the car in several conditions, including track conditions, to understand the feel, sounds, and experience. If a customer comes in with a complaint that the brakes make a funny noise under high speed stopping, they can already have a point of reference for how the…
I might just do that.
I’m really bad about documenting my projects with photo or video. I’ve long stated that I’d video my work for youtube record, but never really have success there as manning a camera, coordinating shots, and actually getting anything done with one person is a royal pain in the bum.
I have far bette…
