Exactly! Turbochargers are notably more efficient than superchargers, and your math is sound based upon what I’ve seen on dynos (and what math/physics supports).

Turbichargers may make more total power, I’m not debating that. What I’m saying is that a turbocharger still reduces the base power output in the persuit of greater total power output, much the same as superchargers.

Turbochargers still take a small amount of energy from the engine, like a belt supercharger, to make additional power. While no one seems to acknowledge it, but they aren’t free power. I will agree that the obstruction to the exhaust path and heat load is still more efficient than a belt-driven supercharger, but not…
