They can ignore the P100D, for now, because the 0-60 time it achieves is unreliable. It can manage it on a full battery, but after a few pulls, the 0-60 time increases due to lower available current and heat concerns with the powertain.

Agreed. I only buy new tires now, but have gone with used tires in the past. For me it is a consistency concern, and assuring that for a given labor cost (tire mount/balance), I’m getting the most miles for the other metrics of performance I targeted. 

I accept all of the cheapening with your projects, but tires and brakes should be excluded from the junkyard salvage plan.
