Hopefully a bit of CAT knocks some sense into these idiots.

Too bad. Put it on TV to serve as an example.
This - so much this. The reward is not there for the inevitable pain.
I really, really like VWs. I have owned seven of them and have no fear of owning them. Nice ones, that is.
I kind of like public caning. Works well in Singapore.
None of them.
Insane. Why would you want “nicer leather” in one of these? Just buy a nice condition stock one for $20K. They are tougher than old boots.
More torque, lots smoother, and while famous for it’s “pump motor groan”, the 2.8 still sounded far better than the Iron Puke. 102hp was entirely adequate for 1982.
Not how that works at all, especially in Europe. The EU actually stands up to the banks.
Being from Maine, I have always wondered why it’s called “Tourist Season” when you aren’t allowed to shoot them.
They need the money. <shrug>
Certainly - after you found out he died. If he had walked away, nobody would ever have remembered that crash. Unlike the spectacular flip, flop and got airborne crashes where the drivers DID walk away, that make these “spectacular crash” postings.
I hate “over-restored”. Just take it back to the way it looked when it was new (ish). Patina does nothing for me, unless it’s one of those unrestored cars that just looks like it is 5 years old. Which in most cases, even for the most exotic of cars, was not artificial perfection. Then drive the piss out of the damned…
Exactly, he just did that 90 degree turn into the wall, and slid to a stop. Everybody expected him to just climb right out. If he’d had all the safety gear on he probably would have. Sad.
My time has value, no idea about theirs. My tolerance for waiting is being behind a car that is currently filling up - beyond that and I am out.
If there is no wait or a short wait, why not? To hear some talk it takes as long to get gas as it does to charge an EV. Not that I really believe them, but if there is a huge line at BJ’s, I am either going to just get gas some other time or just go to one of the roughly 50 other gas stations in a two mile radius.
If these had been bog-simple carb’d V8s or I6s or I4a they still would have blown up from this. No engine lives long with crap plugging up the oil passages.
Isn’t this basically the same issue that nuked all those Hyundai/KIA fours? My old roommate was without her Sorrento (I think)for about six months waiting for a new engine after hers went BANG under warranty.
Exactly, it looked like nothing at all. No drama. But it’s usually the sudden stop that kills ya - at least assuming a guardrail doesn’t cut you in half. Now THAT is a haunting mental image. I really didn’t need to know about that one. <shudder>
His crash killed him obviously, but it was singularly undramatic.
