MS is trying to vastly overpay for a badly damaged brand because their gaming division can’t make good games while Sony is pissily trying to stop them by threatening to take their ball and go home.

They are protecting their product and positioning.

Why is every take crapping on Sony here? This makes complete sense. Why would they want to hand MS ANY information about an upcoming system? That's just asking to be matched or outdone feature for feature.

Yea but none of those migrants were billionaires, so who cares?

And in news getting significantly less coverage:

The ethics debate aside (which is a huge one) is that it instantly looks like AI. It has that flat, cheap feel with selective levels of detail because current image AI is really just approximating some mishmash from training data. It’s kind like any of those meal delivery/prep services—at first you might think “wow

Everything is just a tool. That doesn’t mean it won’t be misused.

Friendly reminder that every “It’s just a tool, bro” defender was, is, and always will be gaslighting you.

They know it’s going to be used to side-step paying artists. As evidenced above, that has always been the goal. They know. They just don’t care.

If I found out that my art had been used to train the program that made this stuff, I’d sure as fuck be looking for a payday from Disney (I mean, their lawyers would laugh in my face, but I’d still want one).

I think this is a case where personal preference plays a huge role. VI has an external story that happens around the characters, whereas VII has an internal story that happens to the characters. No matter how many times I play VI, I can’t get invested in the game because none of the characters have emotional depth or

Strong disagree. Still think it holds up. Story and characters are still significantly better than VIII (We all grew up together at an orphanage and the witch lived with us as well, but she’s not really the main antagonist, this third act other space witch is - the end).

And the original’s art was stellar so what’s your point?

It’s literally an HD version of the original game’s art.  I love it.

Maybe. But I’ve read the book and while it’s good, I don’t think it’s the sort of light reading that really would benefit from movie fans. It’s a dense academic tome that won the Pulitzer Prize for nonfiction.

Is it actually a fallacy?

Right?! Can we get another take on this where the Korean brands are the hard pass they should be right now?

Only if you want a catastrophic breakdown and then the dealership to say they can look at it in 9 weeks.

having owned the NX and now the XC60, I’d take the Volvo everytime

There are a couple of these I don’t disagree with, but for most of them, I feel like this is just another piece of evidence in the case for not relying on Consumer Reports for anything automotive related.
