It is sad that there won’t be another one (for now). But at the same time, like, can’t some things just exist and be awesome on their own? I know it’s a sequel, so this is kinda dumb to say. But if there’s no justification to make another one, then let’s just have the one great game. I don’t need there to be six more.

I’d like to live in a world where we ignore misogynists. I can only imagine it is not the majority of gamers that are upset and just a small percentage of basement dwelling cave trolls. We need to stop giving them the attention they so desperately crave

Mystery $2B deal... basically some crypto bro scam fell through and now Embracer are scrambling... idiots.

Jerykk gonna jerryk.

Literally my point was that Embracer took on all these acquisitions without actually being able to afford them. I made no comments about any of these being hostile takeovers.

“Nobody is forcing these studios to accept buyouts.”

Listen, you can have both situations. I know a lot of 20 somethings who hate alcohol because of what it did to their families but also want a high that doesn’t give them a hangover or is a liquid. It’s easier to pop a pill or smoke before/during a concert than drink a bunch of liquid and throw up later jumping around.

Out of touch billionaire is out of touch indeed

>The Hobbit movies were middling

Lots of luck exploiting Lord of the Rings. I feel like that’s a franchise that’s been seeing diminishing returns for years now. The Hobbit movies were middling, the games haven’t been setting the world on fire, and it feels like the Amazon TV series was completely upstaged by House of the Dragon.

we need to be exploiting Lord of the Rings in a very significant fashion

Wait, I thought industry consolidation was a good thing though?!?!

The fires of Isengard will spread, and the forests of Tuckborough and Buckland will burn. And all that was once great and good in this world will be gone. There won’t be a Shire, Pippin.”

So what I am getting is that they made a bunch of business plans around this mystery $2B deal and put those plans in motion (including the spending) before that deal was final. The deal fell apart and now they are screwed and having to do massive restructuring to avoid bankruptcy. Is that about the sum of it??

You know what would’ve been great? Is if these pricks never got the deal to remake KOTOR and it went to Ubisoft instead, since it appears they knocked it out of the park with Outlaws. Or even if just EA/BioWare picked it back up.

So why all the moves? Two words: writers strike.

You could also just like, pay your writers and give them fair deals? But I guess delaying all your massive movies makes sense, too.

Indeed. Over 30 dollars for 2 beers at a recent concert is highway robbery.

How about concerts are too expensive and people who go to them don’t want to spend money on overpriced refreshments?

There’s statues of Lois Lane holding Superman’s dead body, this isn’t that extreme.
