certainly not a forgone conclusion to me. i think it has a lot of potential and scott’’s still got his fastball.

i’m excited for this one, but it does make me laugh that it’s a movie based on a photo book.

Less programming at more cost than when all of these streamers started, of course. We know the streamers’ goal was to attract as many subscribers as fast as possible, not to build a sustainable, profitable business model. That’s why these companies borrowed billions of dollars to produce the flood of content we got

Right now I have Max, Amazon and Netflix. I have access to other streamers through a heavily discounted cable teevee package. That’s it. No more. I’m streamed out. If the streamers/networks/whatever the fuck they want to label themselves today want to cut costs, let me get a package where I don’t have Fox “news”, The

They’re dumb opinions, but it’s not like he’s shouting them at you on the street. He’s saying then on a podcast, that by definition, people are listening to because they want to hear his opinions. You clicked this link because you wanted to read his opinions.

It’s weird because his sitcom was one of the best television comedies of all time, and I often see it said that it’s because of Larry David and the other writers and Jerry doesn’t deserve all of the credit... And I often see it said that he’s the worst actor of the main four... But he is really funny playing “Jerry

Wealthy men always think everyone wants to hear their opinion.

None of this is really that surprising for a wealthy 70 year old guy to say, but I do wonder why he thinks anyone wants to hear it from him.

He may be a dick, but I think some people have been overcompensating by doing that whole “he was never good anyway” thing.

O’Barr was an orphan raised in the system who wrote The Crow as a way of dealing with the death of his fiancee, and he’s nothing but supportive of the adaptation. There are a lot of fair criticisms you can make of the movie, but a lack sincerity probably isn’t one of them.  That’s definitely his angst up there.

Honestly no. The movie is amazing. The soundtrack IS where it's at, though, agreed.

Very illuminating.

Counterpoint: No. And fuck off.

I really can’t see the remake having the same impact, likely because there is simply so much more STUFF out there that can ‘speak to’ the target audience compared to when the original came out.

I’d almost forgotten the pan-n-scan era.

I have seen few movies that improved as much as this just by watching it in a proper aspect ratio instead of VHS pan-n-scan. This and Lifeforce. (and probably Lawrence Of Arabia, if I ever get around to it.)

Great piece. Miss seeing things like this on AVC, but there’s been a couple lately, which is hopefully a good sign for the future with the new owners.

Seriously one of my favorite movies of all time.

No one has more disdain for hacky YouTubers than I do, but the idea that there’s literal payola involved is one of the more hilarious delusions among would-be savvy pop-culture observers.

None of this seems at all surprising, except the beef with Ryan Reynolds.  It seems impossible to piss Ryan Reynolds off.  He’s so easygoing.  Dwayne must have been the biggest of assholes.
