It might be just the articles that I've read comments on lately, but there seems to be a weird uptick. I've seen it as a near-top comment on at least three this week.

I think it's more so that it's so unusual for a woman to make the first move that men don't know how to react. As a shy/socially anxious guy I definitely appreciate women making the first move, but have had some difficulty reciprocating even when I wanted to, largely do to the unusualness (compounded by said

These albums (and some of the similar later 00s electro-house stuff) reminds me of being 16 and driving around suburbia aimlessly with my friends and somehow, despite the fact that I had nothing better to do, feeling cool since I had these bass lines and 4/4 beats playing.

Apart from records I think there were a lot of forgotten bands with one or two amazing songs (and lots of clunkers). Someone should make a compilation in 10-15 years.

There's certainly a similar vein flowing from this scene to the brief electro-house revival in the mid-late 2000s. Compare anything on this list to something like the first Digitalism album. I had a gift card for there a few years ago when I was in college i.e. broke, and I managed to make it inexpensive by virtue of stretching one entree into 3 meals. I'm not sure if this strategy still works, but I ordered some relatively cheap pasta dish that came with unlimited salad. I proceeded to eat enough salad

The AV Club, sometime last week: "[study of 6 former Biggest Loser contestants proves] The body works against [long-term weight loss] at every available opportunity. That‘s just biological reality…."

I can hate (aspects of) my job and still be more qualified and capable of doing it than 99% of society

Your family must be later model Catholics (or maybe just not the Irish variety?). My grandmother had 8 kids, and her siblings had huge families too.

Yea I shop at the Meijer he did that at. Luckily I've been getting produce from the farmers market the past few weeks.

Maybe he resents himself? Whenever I'm reminded I wasted my prime fucking years (college) being mostly alone due to untreated depression and social anxiety, I'm hit by a wave of self loathing.
