Just binged the full series - shit’s fucking incredible.

I think just about every major city (and some small ones) in the US have a good variety of food options. I spent a year and a half working in Birmingham, AL and that city has an incredible food scene and I’d guess most people wouldn’t expect that.

Same!

If only the AV Club had some sort of platform to bring attention to these shows BEFORE they were cancelled!

His ramblings remind me of those of my late uncle, who was a paranoid schizophrenic. Not saying that Kanye is a paranoid schizophrenic, but mental health issues are definitely present.

Shocked to see Chris D’Elia has been accused of being a comedian.

Wow, the McBride comparison is a great one. I’m not fond of McBride’s HBO shows but at least he commits to the horribleness of his characters; Run couldn’t do that.

The whole season has felt like an awkward, haphazard attempt to get back to the status quo of season one. It’s like the writers decided they didn’t want to follow up on any of the themes and storylines set up in season 3 (which was phenomenal) and are dancing around it.

Rick and Morty just doesn’t have that commitment to character development.

First, a bit of a typo: It’s Tammie not Tonya

Yup. Her speech about how nothing was about her anymore once she had a husband and kids failed to win my sympathy either. If they had gone more Arrested Development and had her be absolutely awful it might have been more fun, but they walked an unsuccessful line with her character.

i read this review twice and i’m willing to admit that i’m stupid but i can’t find any trump references/metaphors in this?

They could’ve at least had a flashback episode to show us how they met and fell in love and set their agreement up, but not even that.

My high hopes for this show were connected to the fact that it wasn’t just Phoebe, but also Vicky and Jenny Robins (story producer). They all worked together on KE s.1 and Fleabag s.2. So to me the biggest shock is how the pacing and the show premise just...fell apart.

Yes, this was perhaps its most egregious sin. It was neither exciting nor funny. It was boring, and confusing, and lacking a clear perspective. But mostly it was just boring.

I don’t know how the show felt about Billy. He abruptly turned from lovesick and regretful at letting his girl get away all those years ago, to lying creep, to, here, a fugitive we were supposed to feel what, glad that he didn’t get away with it, when it was Ruby who persuaded him not to go to the police. If he gets

I will often sit through an iffy show if the acting is good. I watched the awful middle years of Homeland for fuck’s sake. I couldn’t get through Run, and I’m one of like four people in the world who’d put Domhnall in my top 3.

If you go back one or two reviews, I made a comment saying that maybe going back to the “simple” stuff after all the criticism of Season 3 was a mistake and Dan Harmon should go back on his meta bullshit.

I get what I fucking deserve, I guess?

So we all agree it looks better? Yeah? Yeah. Good.

funny, because theres been a lot of hand-wringing recently among Montrealers about finally admitting the Toronto is a better food city.
