I do you one better, and say that the Hollywood Nepo Babies that are actually talented are the only ones that are successful. For every Charlie Sheen, there’s a Joe Estevez, after all.

South of the border, we like to say he’s a North American treasure.

Martin Short is a goddamn Canadian National Treasure

There are probably hundreds of clips with Maher on Youtube conclusively demonstrating that he is garbage at his supposed core competency - interviewing. One that sticks out for all the wrong reasons is an ‘interview’ he did with directors Tarantino and Apatow.

One of the things I’ll have to explain to my daughter is the concept of missing a sitcom when it aired, trying to catch it in syndication, and realizing they’re still mid-season 2 in the cycle so it’ll be at least another month before they hit a patch of episodes I hadn’t seen yet.

I just...don’t know what the fuck Seinfeld is on about. Dude never was in any danger of being too fucking edgy, blue, or controversial. I’ve not seen a single thing that approaches even the tamer parts of a Bill Burr or Patton Oswalt show.

You really think the new SP is as good as old South Park and people don’t like it because it makes fun of something like Ozempic?

Literally the only difference between old/new South Park and Eminem is that now they’re making fun of things their fans like, and apparently no one can take a joke unless it’s at the expense of a group they don’t like.

This year my Dad was telling me about a “joke” he did. He’s avid at the curling club on a night that was “woman’s curl” he showed up and was like “I identify as she now”. When he told me this he paused expecting laughter afterward it was such an awful silence.

The Megan line was particularly lame in song full on lameness. They’re not in the same generation, same social circles, or even the same subgenres. It’s just unprovoked douchery at a woman because that’s what he’s been doing for 25 years and his fanbase of incels eat it up.

The chorus was just... awful. You get the throw back to a recognizable 80's song with the change of lyrics from “I want to reach out and grab ya” to “Imma ‘bout to reach in bag, brah” — <<cringing shudder>> If I were of an appropriate age to use such a term, I might say “so cringe” but because I’m Gen-X (like Eminem

Going back to my youth, the Onion had a story that stuck with me headlined

for sure. seems like a bit of both though: monopolized ticket pricing and acts booking venues reflective of popularity they yet to have achieve or have since lost

There is basically a 1:1 correlation between comics who complain about how the woke younger generation is ruining comedy and comics whose material doesn’t resonate with people under 35 anymore.

They all resort to the “damn kids are too woke today” thing when they become too old and out of touch rather than actually doing the work of attempting to stay relevant.

The crazy thing about all of that is that Larry was the edgier of the two, and people still love him. Not because of some bullshit “wokeness” criteria, but because he’s funny. Seinfeld never was.

Today’s woke culture won’t even let a human woman marry a bee!

He is the undrilled bowling ball of comedians.

And it’s not like his comedy was ever “edgy.”

Let’s not forget how recently The Toymaker was brought back by David Tennant invoking a superstition outside of the universe.
