True. At the same time, maybe they really *are* getting rid of loot boxes? Let’s put it this way, they got rid of the season pass that was a staple in all Call of Duty games (where you had to buy the season pass to get the new Maps and Zombies DLC, etc.). That’s gone this year. Period.

Great review Tim, thanks. Question for you:

Well said Cecilia. I fall into the same camp as you: I did not like Evangelion, and didn’t think it was the be-all, end-all “greatest anime of all time” like many think it is. It’s OK to not like Eva, or whatever ultra-popular show might be out there.

Heather, awesome review! It’s Word Kung Fu, a 50-Hit Combo and stylish Gunplay all wrapped up in adjectives, verbs and nouns.

Nice review Riley. I agree with most of what you said, but this one comment from you is exactly the reason why I’m not 100% on board yet with Apex:

Nice article. Interestingly looks like Treyarch just announced a change to earn loot faster from today’s patch:

It does feel slightly slow, but I’m betting there’ll be “Double Progress” weekends (like they did with Double XP Weekends, Double Weapon XP Weekends, Double Division XP Weekends etc.). That, and they can always patch it and adjust.

Exactly. The reveal about Riot Games’ misogynistic / sexist / harassment culture, and you look at all of these female designs for the heroes (been around since the early days) and it all fits together.

Thanks Jason. While still rough-looking, if this was polished up, I’d play this game for sure! It already shows promise. Especially if you’re able to visit / explore all the famous places throughout the Harry Potter books.

Great review Tim, thanks! One surprising detail you mentioned in the review: The Japanese original release didn’t have Voices? :O Crazy.

Yah BBQ 76 is one of my favorite Overwatch skins! So awesome. :)

^ THIS. Well said.

Make this happen Sony / ND! I’d watch a full series on this, or a trilogy of movies. :)

Thanks for the warning and early thoughts Jason. I dig most FF games, but hate SaGa Frontier games. Oh well, probably skip this.

Having played this at E3, I’d agree with Cecilia’s article: This is definitely a beginner’s game. You just mash light or heavy and “Lots of Cool-Looking Stuff” happens.

HECK YAH! Ancient Japan setting, samurai and FROM Software?

Huh? Are you just randomly spewing hatred at every big publisher? Unlike EA, Activision hasn’t been selling game-impacting items (play to win). EA’s the one selling Darth Vader. I don’t like either publisher, but get your facts straight.

Totally agree Cecilia. I really hope Blizzard eventually has all of the PvE events compiled in a “Story Mode” option or something (and keep adding to it, like chapters of a book). :)

The uniform details are good, but Blizzard’s in-house sculpted statues continue to fail to capture the face / essence of the heroes. Mercy’s face here looks... meh. Her in-game 3D model / expressions are far more interesting.

Nice article Cecilia. Totally agree with your nostalgia reflection on MMOs. FFXI was a grind, it had low moments, but so many good moments, and every achievement / win felt like a huge accomplishment.
