Actually, defunding and abolishing the police means getting rid of the force as we know it. In our country they came from slave patrols. The system was set up to harm Black people from the get.

I mostly agree with this article, but what I feel is missing is that we’re pretty much forced to wear cloth masks in the US. There aren’t enough practical disposables for everyone, even essential workers. Homemade masks sprang up to fill the disposable gap and designer masks sprang up to fill the homemade gap.

Right. He’s also...Jewish. And...Not White. It’s really weird to look at that and then look at what he’s doing and think “yes this is totally Nazi fanfiction, nothing further is going on here”

My theater class did a unit on wound makeup, but it was in HS. I think this lesson should be saved for when kids are a little older, have more fine motor skills to do the work, and can defend their choice to have a bullet wound painted on them. Regardless, the head should never have been an option for the bullet. Cut?

I read it in 8th or 9th grade. Then not a year later our class was assigned it as a summer reading project. Effing mindblowing, I tell you. I’m really surprised the teachers got away with it, especially a Midwestern public school in the early 2000's.

LMFAOOO Half the time this would happen with Dominos or a different chain pizza place, so maybe something else was going on. I have an out of state number so maybe they dial the wrong area code?

Sometimes I wonder if the number masking service apps use fucks up more than we think it does.

I dunno, I can see why people wouldn’t want that burden. It’s pretty lonely and isolating being the only X in the room, and feeling like you have to be a shining example of your race/gender/sexuality etc. all the time is exhausting and unfair to put on someone. That’s increased pressure to be perfect put on someone

My bf tried to get his catto to go on walks with him and he refused outright. We can leave the front door open and he’ll stare like it’s the void.

That would be difficult, as most people have to buy their own service animals (you can get some financial aid but its largely self-funded), and purebreds are pricey. And it rules out the possibility of someone training their current household pet to do the task instead of getting a whole new dog.

Why the woman? The victim said the woman had no issue changing seats, and went up to go look. They were about to solve it easy peasy until the flight crew got involved.

I think the single digits set is the majority of OTR’s base, but the Millenials and early Zoomers support the absurdity, camp, and sheer gumption. There were campaigns on Twitter to keep him on the charts because (a) the song is cute (b) to spite Billboard Country (c) Support Black Queer Boys doing their thing despite

TBH buying these folks awesome furniture is probably the best move, because it’s

I’m wondering how much of this was content vs. editing. Last season there was a bit of a kerfuffle around Tan’s seemingly brief and ignorant conversation with Skyler (the trans man). Skyler came out afterwards and said that he pushed back on Tan’s implicit biases and it led to a really meaningful convo, but that part

Right. I lumped HIV/AIDS under chronic illness.

I had a friend in HS who had a heck of a time getting into school because of stuff like this. Her mother was abusive and both parents refused to pay for school, she was essentially sleeping on friends’ couches, but since she was still technically a dependent it fucked up her financial aid. Luckily her counselor fought

If her quackery harms Black Americans with disabilities or chronic illnesses I don’t want her.

And it’s even more unlikely Juicy J knew that song. The fact that he’s held liable is wild to me.

Not really seeing where Dickson’s report says those words, or even implies it other than stating what Devins’ friends said. And it’s certainly not victim blaming to say “hey this dude killed someone because she flirted with someone else” especially when Dickson acknowledges that women have a tangible fear of rejecting

However, when a book goes out of print or a contract expires the rights revert to the author. Not the same for musicians.
