Because it’s an indie dev team of 20 people. I mean dont get me wrong I’ve never played it and Sean Murray can go fuck himself with his bullshit lies...but 1 year with 20 or so people is rather impressive..also:

And this took two years to accomplish why?
I like her.......but I can only take her in small, measured doses.
uhhh what? Where is this “political subtext” to any of this ladies obnoxious screaming, and what does it have to do with her height or skin color?
Well I laughed last night and in a few sketches on SNL she made the difference but mostly I like that she seems to be herself without a bunch of handlers and focus groups involved. I imagine she had a hard time breaking into the business because she didn’t try to fit the mold but now she is here and am happy to see…
Bombastic Enthusiasm and no filter — you nailed. I don’t think she’s funny in a comedic sense very often (personal taste) but I feel like I just like her.....and would like to see her in many more contexts outside of SNL.
McKinnon came across as an unfunny try-hard who seemed to be doing her best to be consciously “wacky”
heh I just watched the review last night, and it was great hearing that. I was like, “huh, I’m not the only one.”
It’s funny, Red Letter Media/Mr. Plinkett trashed the Ghostbusters reboot, then leaned to the side and said, “But for real, Leslie Jones is great and sells all of her scenes, but back to us hating this movie...”
I liked the cast, but they were awful in the movie I feel. Feig’s hands off “directorial” style just was not up to snuff with the terrible script, and trying to rely on constant improvisational jokes to pick up the slack was not enough for me.
In the end, that’s the biggest problem with the movie. It’s a shit movie, but it’s not even so bad you can really have fun riffing on it. It’s just sort of sitting there like a grey lump, not really doing much.
I was one of the ones who was pretty vocally against it before it came out, not because it was women, (although I could have thought of any number of actresses I would have preferred to be in it) but because I can’t stand Paul Feig, and the original has been my favourite film since I was 4 and a reboot felt painfully…
That’s exactly how I’ve been wanting to describe it without actually being able to articulate - all the characters are over-the-top caricatures, whereas Jones actually felt more like a real person.
Same here. Before I caught it, everyone was talking about how great Kate was in it, and I just found her character so damned annoying. Jones felt like a real person, while everyone else was some sort of cartoon character. Still, not enough to salvage the movie, yeah.
Watching it with someone loud and over excited can be a little obnoxious but its waaay better than fuckheads on their phones asking “wait what happened? I wasn’t looking” every 10 mins.
I still can’t get into her. I just don’t care for “loud” humor, which is what I feel most of SNL is, these days. Although I loved SNL reruns from the 90s-Early 2000s when I was a teenager and that stuff wasn’t exactly thoughtful and reserved. I still say the worst thing to happen to SNL was that MadTV ended. I feel…
Is Leslie Jones funny? No. Leslie Jones is not funny.
He’s also 74.
So I’m thinking this might be the thing that gets Perlmutter shitcanned. Think about it: Until now, Marvel has had mostly successes. Granted, there have been some creative misfires (Iron Man 2, Dark World) and dead ends (the Norton Hulk), but no embarrassments. There has been nothing on the scale of Batman & Robin or G…
Umm, iron fist turned out to be decent. Waaay better than all the hate it was getting before it even came out. I’m still gonna give inhumans a shot despite all the dog piling going on.
