As I mentioned elsewhere, I really hope the history books also note that Obama was faced with a possibly historic level of obstructionism from Congress. So he was forced to get creative with executive power in order to govern.

RE: The regulatory attorney. I fear *this* will be what Obama’s legacy winds up being (especially if the ACA is gutted/repealed). Every batshit crazy decision trump makes will be caveated in history books with “He was able to do this because Obama consolidated more and more power in the executive branch through

“It’s like built in fascism.”

If these neighbors were smart, they’d take these pics and put them on io9.

Fair, but considering what was known about Trump pre-election I doubt that these revelations would have changed the outcome.

She sounds like the type of person who invites people over for dinner and then tries to get them to invest in a ponzi scheme.

“This was how it started”

That’s right! Trump won the presidency with the support of about 25% of the population.

46.9% of the electorate didn’t vote yesterday. 25.5% of the electorate explicitly voted for Trump. 1.7% of the electorate voted for Johnson and .7% voted for Jill Stein.

Nothing makes me more sick to my stomach than the thought of the first black president having to smile and cede the White House to the chosen candidate of the KKK.

My male coworkers have an impressive ability to be out of the bathroom before the urinal is done flushing. Absolutely vile.

So the guy perpetrates the violence and then blames the woman for not preventing it? (Checks all of human history.) YUP! CHECKS OUT!

i’m gonna be that guy...it’s Uhura.

My friends get on my case for being paranoid, because I’ll stare at any new guest at a Halloween party until someone else at the party or the host confirmed they were supposed to be there.

“How is that working out for you” is the moment when I flew into an apoplectic fit. Such an obnoxious, arrogant thing to say—as if the mere fact that someone is single means they’ve been a failure in all past relationships, and that failure is because that single person just doesn’t know what’s good for them.

Sadly, few people will look at this from that perspective. If this were a woman with an abusive boyfriend, everyone would be up in arms about it and expressing sympathy. Instead, we have some people here who are questioning the writer’s manhood, calling him stupid, saying that he deserves this to happen to him, etc.

Hey Kirk, remember when I was laying odds on how quick we were gonna get this comment?

Nobody deserves to be abused.

He’s acceded and acceded to her “rules” so now he should dump her? This is such poor behavior and such bad advice.

She didn’t ‘betray’ you because you weren’t actually together.
