I bet it smells awful in there. Late 70's/Early 80's plastic interiors emitted VOCs like crazy. With this being all closed up it’s gotta be full of that plastic resin stink. . .

The economy rebounded because of a massive influx of public spending for the war effort and that the US didn’t have its infrastructure destroyed by a massive groundwar and/or nuclear bombs. Not because “Detroit” was building better/more efficient/etc., cars.

That bus assumption is predicated on everyone going to the same place, at the same time, in the same general direction. It has a place but it cannot and never will replace individual transport. I rode the METRO park and ride in Houston (a great system BTW) for years and loved it. There were also days I needed to drive

We have crony capitalism in the US, if you’re pushing it you could even call it fascism. People think of an authoritarian system when they hear “fascism” but that isn’t a requirement, all you need is a sufficient blurring of the line between the public and private sectors which is something we have in spades.

*Googles “how much market share is required for a monopoly”*

My parents consistently vote against any public transit project. “Just build more roads, we want to drive” they always say. I keep telling them that building roads scales terribly and just won’t work in the long run. I say that it’s a better idea to keep driving and to build trains for other people to ride in and

1996 Dodge Viper GTS. It started a life-long obsession for 10-year-old me, and although it took a long time for me to save up to get one, I still smile every time I open my garage and see one sitting there.

Isuzu VehiCROSS.

160k is a lotta miles, but damn that’s a good lookin’ car.

Jared, my man, I know you want a hatch so you can sleep in it... but hear me out: There’s a better way.

Crazytalk. This thing is freaking awesome. It’s (A), not beige, (B) a BRAT, (C) a manual, and (D) not in any way shape or form boring. I’m so sick of boring cars, I’d take this thing in a heartbeat.

Too bad Ford never let them have the keypad, which has been letting people lock their car without worrying about getting the keys wet since 1980.

I always loved when power window switches have two levels of “click”. The first level is normal operation. The second level requires a harder push and express opens or closes. Simple but useful. I think BMW or VW invented this, but it’s becoming commonplace.

Visors that can be extended

Have never understood the fascination with these things; they weren’t all that appealing when new. Now they’re old and slow and worse than a comparably priced 10-years-newer Honda. Hard ND.

22 year old VAG car with 212K miles. What could possibly go wromg?

Ski resort? LOL!
