So is there any information as to whether this will work as a way to transfer service away from Sprint? I happen to know a couple people who are sick of paying so much for cell service and would like to switch to Virgin Mobile, but want to take their numbers with them.
Smirnoff is far from cheap in the US. It's actually closer to being a mid-range in a lot of places.
The difference is that the repositories are open and free.. Having a "Windows Update" for all programs would most likely include the reporting of unique system identifiers to MS so that they can "Improve the customer experience" (read: make sure you're not doing anything they don't want you to do... like Apple…
Do you really want MS controlling all updates? ...including those of the apps you don't really want MS knowing you have?
Excellent list.. and much more actionable than the article, because it breaks things down into much smaller tasks than just "What, Why, Fix".
Thanks! I don't know why that site didn't show up for me when I did the search for it. I guess I wasn't using the right search terms or something.
I won't be spending any money on apps until I can figure out how to "root" my LG Optimus V... there are all kinds of tutorials around on how to do it, but none of them include information on where to get the driver so you can actually begin the process...
I'd love to see a list of locations where drivers can be found for the various phones. I'm trying to root the LG Optimus V, but I just can't seem to find drivers. (Yes, I have tried Google - That's always the first place I go)
@yehoshua_ghitis: Seriously... I'm sick of all the WYSIWYG users that call themselves "developers".. I'm a PHP programmer, and my wife is a designer, our company has had to compete with those "developers" since we got started, because people don't realize that sitebuilders and WYSIWYG editors butcher the code & make…
@KyleUndefined: and if you have Phrase Express, you can do like I did & add entries that Make it so [ctrl]+whatever-makes-the-normal-symbol gives you the HTML entity version...
Guru:
@TheFu: Absolutely not. :-D
@shampoo: Yes they are. I currently have 4 gApps accounts running in the IMO app on my phone, and haven't had any trouble with them.
@Jigen: Except that I mapped the [`] key as the trigger for launchy/keybreeze, so then I would have to have my universal shortcut key mapped to something less conveniently easy to hit.
I would also like to know about the ability to take the number away after leaving Sprint... I have a couple relatives that are currently using Sprint who I would like to set up with gVoice, but they also want to move to a no-contract plan like the $40/month 1200 min + unlimited everything else that Virgin Mobile…
I knew it! ...good thing I've been out of school for a long time..

Nice! I started using keyboard patterns for a while (similar to: up one row, hold shift, down a different row, release shift, diagonal somewhere else), but then I got an Android phone & realized that having the numbers and symbols on a separate keyboard means that those patterns won't work anymore.
