@etnie77: USAA = Win
@Helixthe2nd: I have a WRT320N running DD-WRT for my home/office network, and I love it. One thing that's great for me is the fact that you can create "virtual" WiFi networks with different access rules. That way I can have my "full" network for the home & my company, and I have a second SSID with a different…
@philselmer: Sounds like you need this: [theoatmeal.com]
@jcnaquin: It appears that only one has been sent to my area, and that was a couple weeks ago. I guess living where I do has screwed me over yet again.
@jcnaquin: I've been using [phpanywhere.net] because it supports FTP access, but I'll have to take a look at kodingen again. It may have improved since the last time I played with it.
@cha0tic: I used to make screwdrivers by buying a gallon of orange juice and a 1 liter of whatever vodka was available... Drink/dump the top 1/3 of the gallon (not at once if you're drinking it) and fill the gap with the vodka (I like to add some concentrated lemon juice too). Shake it up some & you've got a 1-2 day…
@Imfromthenet: I used to do that... not so much anymore. Takes too long. And then you always that the issue of registry entries & conflicting versioning data (along with the files that get hidden in random Windows system folders).
@Zinger314: I see that you used Wordpress for the core.. Is your framework built as a Theme, Theme + Plugin(s), or do you use some other method to implement it? I use Wordpress a lot too, but I lean towards the CMS side more than the blogging side.
@YourSaltyPinkDeathNuts: yeah... because it's less disgusting to own an animal that just squats in the yard, leaving nasty little "land mines" for anyone to accidentally step in... /s
Good thing I've almost completely transitioned everyone I know over to Google Talk/Jabber/XMPP...
@ejf071189: Too true. That's one of the main reasons that I've stayed away from voice input. I have a tendency to reinstall/switch OSes fairly frequently, and having to re-teach the software every time would be more of a productivity killer than a help.
I would think that it might make a decent amount of sense to re-enable FB connect for login before asking people to "like" the LH page.
@jupiterthunder: It should be interesting to see what happens if that account gets deleted... your response will still exist, but the original post won't. There definitely needs to be a better "remove account" option that doesn't break comment threads.
@SquareWheel: People still use Recycle Bin? I shift-delete everything that I want to get rid of, and if I don't want to get rid of it, I don't tell it to delete.
@SolidSquid: I believe I asked you in another thread if I could get your referral link to SpiderOak..
@Justin Cook: I already use Dropbox, but Dropbox serves a different purpose from what Mozy/BlackBlaze/CrashPlan offer. It appears that CrashPlan is a much better option than Mozy, especially because it has Linux support.
@BinTom: Yes you can. TeamViewer works cross-platform without any issues that I've been aware of. I use it to provide support to windows machines fairly frequently, and my home machines are running Linux.
@Way to go, Nuffle: That's the kid of response I was looking for. Excellent! I will have to look into CrashPlan a lot more thoroughly, but that sounds like almost exactly what I'm looking for.. especially the $6/mo unlimited data & unlimited computers.. With as many computers as I have, they would probably have to…
@Anonymous: Mostly Linux Mint or Ubuntu, sometimes with the Win7-lookalike pack.
