It really did seem like an earnest effort to try and increase trans awareness, but I do agree that it felt kind of archaic and awkward. It didn’t feel mean spirited to me, so much as just written by someone with more good intentions than tact and understanding.

I forget about this game most of the time, but whenever I see it, I’m reminded of just how much I love this game.

I’m not too concerned either way because I didn’t love Half Life 2 the way I loved Half Life 1. That said, everyone remember that Half Life 2 came out 8 years after 1. It’s so far been 11 years since 2, and who knows when (or if) they actually started working on it.

It sounds more like a resource management issue. If square made this thing all at once, it could be another decade long development cycle. Final Fantasy 13 proved that they can’t handle that, and Final Fantasy 7 is a much bigger game than 13.

Doesn’t Pokemon explicately mention “the war” several times in a couple of the games? It’s been a bit since I played them, but don’t X and Y’s plot involves superweapons created during the war?

To be fair, in Final Fantasy 6, 8, and 9, Cid doesn’t play the role of airship pilot. (you could maybe argue that he doesn’t in 5, but he’s tied to the airship pretty strongly). It’s not set in stone.

I liked both. Sword just felt like more of a Mana game and had a bit more focus on the action. Adventure seemed to be more about the exploration.
