What worries me is that all of the reasons given for 30fps have basically amounted to "we'll be able to make the graphics better", and if they've built the game around 30fps in order to make the graphics better then we are seeing gameplay scarified for graphics in a very pure form. I'm not at all for that.

To be fair, when I was a kid, I spent a lot of time on the playground making up videogame-esque scenarios that accompanied playing with my friends. It was very serious business. We killed monsters and scowled a lot in our minds. (When you're eight years old, it's not as lame, I swear.)

Instanced isn't quite the word that I'd use, but I suppose most of the minecraft servers I see are 10-11 people, rather than tens of thousands like in an mmo. I always thought of it more like any other traditional multiplayer, but I can see where this person is coming from.

As someone who goes to see a bunch of local rock bands full of people without much money to record, a lot of them use cassettes because you can just chuck a mic in the center of the room and record to a cassette. It's super cheap and super quick, alternatively you can use the cassettes as a collectors item thing and

This movie looks stupid enough to boggle the mind, and I'm so ready to have a blast while watching it.

I did this in a much earlier version of the game with a couple friends. We glitched out the game after about an hour of walking. For anyone who hasn't seen the things that happen, it was actually really cool. We all ended up somehow losing each other and having our own weird psychedelic glitch experiences, then the

See, you nailed it for me when you said "about suggestion" because that's what I liked about that game, I was constantly coming up with my own theories about what was going on in the house. That was great. The problem was that eventually it does reveal its own story in traditional narrative form, and the end result

People call Lolita one of the greatest romances of the 20th century, and people even go as far as to sympathize with the screwed up protagonist of that story. That's because he's a very human character. All of the things that happen in that book are extremely unlikely to just happen as an everyday occurrence, yet the

Realistically, the story in this game was pretty bad. I've been saying it all along. It gets praise because it tackles subjects that we could stand to see tackled more often in ANY media, but the whole thing is done in a pretty bland way. There's not a whole lot of conflict, and not a whole lot of things happen

While it's still not photorealistic as promised, it is a very nice looking game, provided actual in game will look like this (it wont). The one thing here I'm wary about is the lack of colour contrast in the environment. I'm not complaining that the game is too grey or brown or anything, but the trailer used pretty a

Honestly, if I had ~$1000 to drop on one of these things, I would. People say the market is a very specific niche, but I happen to be in that niche of console gamers who don't like the experience of pc gaming, but also have gamed enough on pc to see the areas where it's obviously superior and wish that consoles had

I've always had a fondness for A on the snes, myself. The NES light gun also had a fantastic trigger that has the loudest and strongest snap ever experienced in a videogame controller.

pro-drug, anti-drug, rationalists-who-point-out-he-is-smoking-shisha, I am ashamed that you've chosen the name "vape cube" over the clearly superior "ganjacube"

It's articles like this that make me consider getting an ipod touch or iphone, stick with my android for phone services, but use iOS for portable gaming. I keep feeling like there's a few buried treasures that I'm missing out on by not having an iOS device.

What gets me is that everyone makes such a fuss about how the new consoles are "basically computers", specifically computers with completely standardized hardware. I'm not railing on Sony or Microsoft here, but I think it's really weird that console launches are basically expected to be disasters at this point, yet no

Everyone seems to hate this controller. Aside from the analogue placement, which I see as a necessary evil (I can deal with odd joystick placement, I can't deal with odd dpd placement), I actually like this controller more than the xbox's. I initially had an xbox and preferred that controller, but it's the little

I think a western developed final fantasy game MIGHT be able to happen, but it'd have to be done by a team that thinks in a way unlike most western development studios. Final Fantasy isn't exactly a game known for following a gameplay template. I mean, there are a lot of similarities, but the series generally tries to

Hah, good luck hooking up an intellivision with this guide. It's got an RF switch, but cable can only go in. It has to be hooked up to the tv via that awful screw + copper wire method.

Am I supposed to feel ashamed to be a part of this internet nerd culture whatever we're calling it? Because I definitely am now.
