Yeah, I was coming here to call that out, too. A huge part of the current AV Club is sponsored content, and yet.. “you probably share our general cynicism for promotional nonsense”? Actually, I do! But you do not. The Spike Jonze ad thing might just have been a bad headline, but it’s not like there aren’t a bunch of…
The promotional stuff doesn’t bug me too much, but it can be annoying that the same couple of advertorials to keep popping up in rotation for months on end, and it seems like there’s a new “never been a better time to sous-vide!” twice a week.

I mean, he has a point. This site is pretty much half promotional ads trying to sell me shit. Trying to paint the AV Club as some bastion of anti commercialism is pretty disingenuous at best.
