I just reread these books over the holidays. I don’t think it’s ever said outright that the original plan was to use the vampires as weapons; I think it was legitimately an attempt to create an immortality serum (SPOILER ALERT FOR THE BOOKS, AT LEAST - the guy running the project is desperate for a cure for his ALS).

It’s the right decision in terms of public health, honest debate, and Tribeca’s reputation. Unfortunately it will fuel the manic fever-dreams of conspiracy theorists for years to come.

There’s a comment thread at the bottom of the festival’s page for the film, the one you linked. I think it would be a good thing if those comments showed how outrageous this propaganda is.

About a 100-120 from the ConspiraSea cruise on board a regular Princess cruise. I think there were a few thousand people on the boat overall, but I didn’t get a count. I think the conference was pretty much invisible to the regular cruisegoers—most of it happened in closed rooms, away from everyone else.

I’ve even seen conspiracy theorists writing about this article who take a second to praise the art.

A lot of them were afraid of GMO food though. I’m Colin from the story—at more than one dinner on the cruise, people refused to eat their sides because they weren’t sure if they were GMO veggies. (I got seconds out of that deal.)
