With some guys, the instinct to blow someone up overrides the tendency to play football and not get tossed. This instinct tends to be found in the shittier players.

What astonishes me is that the liberal left used to be the side of the political spectrum most concerned with discussion and dialogue. Now the name of the game is exclusively to shame people, and commentators are often far more concenred with being Right (as in correct), and another particular person being Wrong.

I agree with this. I remember this article from earlier this year:

It’s been like this for years now. The leftwing is no longer leftwing. They hate transgression, demand apologies but rarely grant forgiveness, and have to point out enemies in society to convince themselves they’re good people. It’s beyond self-righteous, and it’s antihuman, because it reduces everyone to the worst

Yeah. I can pretty much agree with this sentiment.

I’ve been noticing this polarization of beliefs as well, but everyone seems to have the thing they get super authoritarian about. And the odd thing is, on both the extreme right and the extreme left, the subject of the thing is often the same.

That being said, there is still a big, squishy center in progressive

I’m growing more and more uncomfortable with the seemingly increasing progressive notion that people’s backgrounds must be fully delved into and punishment doled out for things they did years and years ago, retroactive, permanent punishment. It strikes me as so anti-liberal.

It’s a shame that in today’s America, we lack the compassion to deal with mental illness. Clearly anyone who feels so passionately about an entity that didn’t exist six months ago that he’s willing to fight others, including the police, deserves our sympathy, not our derision.

Porto signed three players with their President in the hospital getting his gallbladder removed. And people wonder why Porto has made almost a billion dollars in the transfer market over the past decade.

Crystal Palace is only three points off the pace you bitch

Bill Kenwright is a true blue sentimental Evertonian who reportedly cried on the phone to his mother when he decided to sell Rooney to Manchester United. This isn’t a club that’s run on Football Manager like principles of cold calculation, which is a pretty good reason to like it for some.

With all due respect, Billy, I think you’re missing a lot here. This boils down to bad-timing, lack of depth on the squad and Bill Kenwright feeling the HEAT from the fan-base.

The thing about Iverson, and Messi, and Zlatan, et. al., is that they are not just better than you, they are better than you can imagine being. Vintage Iverson would not break your ankles, he would break your brain, because you would not be able to fathom how someone could do that on a basketball court or pitch or

In all seriousness, you’d be injury free because they’d be past you before you had time to even react or make an attempt one way or the other. A normal person may as well be a tree.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if a move like this was pulled on me. Would a 2000-2001 Iverson crossover literally break my ankles? If Messi pulled this shit on me would I just audibly tear both sides of my groin? These guys routinely make the best players in the world look like fools, but would it legitimately

And some like Jim Nantz. Go figure.

People don’t like Ray Hudson?
