What about Synergy ( [synergy-foss.org] ) ? Works on Mac, Windows and linux, and does clipboard sharing too...

US Store only apparently?

Writing in caps doesn't make your point valid. It's clear that you never really USED an iOS device. True, iOS doesn't have "true" multitasking, but has something which is much more logical for devices it's running on: fast task suspending/resuming. Most apps just resume where you left it, except for some huge

"There's hardly anything to complain about" except for the absolute confusing mess the account management is. I still can't wrap my head around it. I say "Sign out all" - all my accounts disappear, and the linking of accounts is confusing. Apparently I have to log in to one of the accounts manually (it can remember

>> Keep those RPMs low.

On my iPhone 3G - I would say - app all the way. Browsing is "possible", but not really a joy.

@Red Rocket: iTunes on windows improved a lot performance/stability-wise with version 9 and 10. Before that, it was pretty messy imho.

"For contacts, calendars, email accounts, tasks, and notes, you can always make use of Apple's $99/year MobileMe service"

Being in the business of delivering technical solutions for loyalty programs, I have to say, the matter is slightly more complicated, and the article is very targetted at "airline" loyalty.

@fabarati: In what way? I'm not too familiar with FF, but Chrome's url/search combo bar is pretty powerfull...

I started using Opera in '98, and never liked Firefox - it always felt too bloated and slow, and required extensions for stuff I thought was pretty basic. I still hate to start Firefox if I need it for something.

I just love the Facebook Photo Zoom chrome extension. Just hover over any photo and the large version pops up.

I don't understand parents wanting to watch over their kids like this. There are 2 types of parents that would be interested in this: paranoids and and control-freaks.

Enabling multitasking really made general usage a lot smoother for me. It does require manual management though, you need to kill apps on regular bases. Certainly keeping Safari open in background is a bad idea, I kill it as soon as possible, as this is a major memory-eater. I just keep the phone, calendar, messages

I listen to a lot of different music-styles, and my listening-style doesn't really change when at work...

No, used to do it, but each time I tried, the battery life got a big hit, which is a major no-no for me. I also ended up not using any of the jailbreak features anyway, so I keep it stock.

There's 1 reason for me to stick with iOS4, and that's improved BT support. Now my carkit works flawlessly, before I always had to connect my carkit by pressing the green phone-button. Now it finally connects without any issues.

This was the main thing that irritated me about FireFox extensions, having to reinstall them all manually on each PC. That combined with the other FF annoyances made me stick with Opera and later with Chrome.

Regardless of my opinion, the author's writing style is irritating to say the least - and he is clearly Anti-Apple, and very "pro" webOS.
