When you say “the civil engineering field doesn’t appear to be that great”, do you mean that in terms of job prospects or just the overall enjoyment of being in that field?

I feel like the CE sub-discipline fields are pretty diverse. From what I have researched, Structural, Transport and Water resources engineering spike my interest the most. I’m not sure what GIS is all about (I think something with Geography and programming? I’m only a senior in high school).

I heard Aerospace is becoming a very competitive field to get a job in nowadays. I plan on getting into Civil engineering, but I think as a kid I always thought being an aerospace engineer would be so awesome.

What field of engineering do you work in?

I suppose so, but I just felt that people should know that something this stupid is happening. It really is just sad. I guess most people have twitter, so they’ll find out soon enough.
