You realize that anyone, anywhere that sells a likeness of Santa clause in his “traditional” red suit with white trim and black shoes can be sued by Coca Cola under this precedent? Santa Claus’ red white and black outfit was first introduced by Coca Cola in the 1950 in an advertising campaign. Before that Santa clause

None of this. I think we need to be careful about what we allow people to “own” as theirs and theirs alone. I think dancing is specifically a slippery slope. This can lead to policing and penalizing how people move their own bodies. A dance move might seem pretty specific, but how do you draw the line to what people

Legally speaking, it may NOT qualify as a protected dance. That’s for the court to decide, but the legal precendent is that “simple routines” and “social dance steps” are not protected.

Apparently Epic doesn’t employ any non-white people, nor have they stolen from anyone but black people. Yeah stealing sucks, but this wasn’t targeted at any particular color of skin, nor was it a result of negligence towards skin color.

Everyone trying to steal a piece of someones success....

This is dumb. You can’t copyright dance moves, same way you can’t copyright words or letters. Y’all just taking his side cause he’s a brotha

I fully support Mr. Milly’s quest to get what is rightfully owed to him. But....that qualifies as a “dance” nowadays? Ren McCormick scoffs in his general direction.

On the one hand, I get it: he feels like they’re making money off of him. On the other hand, I feel like it’s a bitch move: the game is insanely popular without the dances (those came later) and a piece of him personality is being represented globally, even if most people probably don’t know where it’s from. Suing

Holy shit, great catch. It’s the exact same, the only thing they changed was the word “Kill” to “Win”.

They’re not profiting off of a culture, they’re profiting off a dance move. Arguing that 2 Milly should be paid for having his “culture” copied would be the quickest way for him to lose the lawsuit. If he’s smart, he’ll stick to the legal argument, not some bizarre racial accusation that Epic thought they could get

I was wondering what I would do with the last two hour of my shift. The answer is smang that F5 button for some nuanced discourse about intellectual property, black culture, and artistic liscence from the foremost experts in the field: Gamers.

Use your logic. This is an obvious copyright case that 2 Milly is spinning into a race issue for legal and press points. Stop being naive and easily manipulated. Imagine if you actually applied such a moronic statement like “If you’re going to make money off the culture, the people that create the culture should be

does copyright protect stuff like the full metal jacket helmet that opens up that music video?

This seems more like a publicity stunt for a washed up rapper grasping at straws for momentary relevance because copyrighting dance moves seems like a slippery slope of anti-consumer policy but I hope I’m just being cynical and wrong.

“I think they believe that they can railroad African American talent because they doubt that there will be any legal consequence,” Hecht told Kotaku in an interview over the phone.

Opting out of reviews and not having forums is a huge fuck you to consumers. I know they can be toxic but they are also how numerous developers have been pressured to actually fix their games. Taking away consumer voices is not good thing,  just because someone somewhere at some point maybe had their feelings hurt.

Steam will win no matter what.  We all have a library of a thousand games on Steam.  And Epic and all the other Launchers expect us to bail on that?  lol. Fat chance.

And Joe Mixon.

I’ve seen the video and dude had several moments to walk away before the light kick.

What’s worse is that the NFL never really cared what he did to the woman, but rather because he lied to them.
