I don't want to look like a Plastic Stallone. I want grey hair, lines, droopy flesh—I want to look like Harry Dean Stanton. At 51, I'm making a good start.

I don't know what's more appalling; his turn-of-the century eugenics bullshit or his absolute certainty that his beliefs aren't racist, but just generally accepted fact.

Ugly, sad, and pathetic. The Westboro Neadertards are a prime argument for devolution. I'm not a violent man, but this freakshow really pushes my buttons. I recently viewed a YouTube video of a recent vet's funeral protest. The mourners and supporters were enraged and started surging towards them. The police

I swore an oath to Jeebus, Odin, and Kali I would never watch this soul-poisoning, devolutionary, twaddle ever again. It is media that does not give, but takes away—intelligence, common sense, the ability to string words into coherent clauses. But just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.

Christina Hendricks is an angel. Straight from heaven.

@Uhuh.: A bullet dodged, indeed. This is one of the worst things I've ever heard anyone doing. I hope your friend is doing well.

When is the Post going to get smart, fire this witless creative typist, and put Lisa De Moraes in his slot?

Kate, a most excellent review. You've captured the essence of the film better than any piece I've read in any publication. By the way, if you thought Wanted was tough going as a film, you'd probably really not want to read the graphic novel.

Jeez Louise! Scottie boy is just ALL aflutter, ain't he? Have you noticed that just about every right-wing actor (term used ever so loosely in this case) is on the career downalator? Kelsey Grammar, I'm looking at you, dude.

Anyone who has read Millar's comics has to know that any film version of this piece that is even reasonably close to the source material is going to be controversial. Personally, I've always loved Millar's completely over-the top, bananawackos style.

I have a double-major BA in Theater Arts and English lit (or as I like to call it, my degree in pre-unemployment). The only thing it really did for me, besides the pleasure of learning, was to bump me up a couple of paygrades when I joined the Navy. Thanks to my military experience (and my degree), I was pretty

It warms the depths of my old-fart heart to see the goodness rain down on this wonderful kid. And at the risk of being maudlin:

Story time kids...I pledged a frat in the mid-70's mainly because a lot of my fellow theater students belonged to it. I was a little apprehensive about the whole thing, but, as it turned out, the whole pledge process consisted of watching the keg at parties and make sure no one jumped in a car and wrapped themselves

@eleanor.riley: Locker stacking was a delightful little ritual performed by the neadertard athletes of my particular circle of hell. Someone would gain access to your locker (by nicking you combo or just jimmying the door). Your books were gathered up and placed on the top shelf and balanced out to brace themselves

Oh, please. I was the Ur-Geek, the Primal Nerd in the dark days of the early 70's. Pre-computer, pre-mobile phone, pre-easy auto access. I weighed less than 100 pounds (most of it located in my nose, if my high school tormentors were to be believed), old-fashioned, all-metal braces WITH wrap around headgear that

I'd post a lovely & lengthy rant right now, but I'm just very weary of this bigoted prick.

Factory farming is unhealthy and inhumane. I'm not an animal rights activist, PETA member, or vegetarian. But any reasonable person has to be appalled at these conditions.

@Deezy: I really don't have a thing against tats. I had a lot of chances to get them in the Navy, but I hate needles and I couldn't decide on anything I wanted to look at for the next 40 years. An old girlfriend had a rose done just above her breast that morphed into a dark blob (I think it was an inferior job).

Just remember: Today's cute little hummingbird is twenty years hence a purple vulture.

@MsFeasance: Ain't it the truth. Even the most conservative companies for whom I've worked had a nondiscrimination policy that applied to the LGBT community. And it was kind of fun to watch the older military retirees freak out when Gay Month began at Raytheon (I'm retired Navy myself).
