I agree subsidies are valid to spur movement in a desired direction. But its not really fair to anyone to go from $7500 - $0 based on some arbitrary hard deadline. If subsidies are known in advance and decrease on a known sliding scale over a prescribed timeline, everyone can plan for it.

Your syllogism is inadequate because emerging economies still have yet to move to a reliable electrical grid. They buy vehicles too.

Neutral: While I agree it is a capitalist society and companies should succeed or fail on their own. I think it is needed in the sense that home owners are given tax credits in renewable energy like solar panels. To me its more about investing in renewable or Eco-friendly transportation.

If we look historically, when subsidies disappear, consumers tend to believe they will come back and wait things out. This often leads to 1 year drop in sales until people accept reality of the subsidy not coming back. Softening the blow makes people less likely to hold out which seems to be what Tesla is doing.

Dude passed me doing at least 100 MPH, and just kept cruising like it was no

I’m confused at how Tesla releases Autopilot for public roads but doesn't feel confident in using it in a literal closed environment

If you think jewelry is useless then ok, but our society as a whole as decided otherwise.

Have you ever enjoyed a car for its beauty and mechanics?

It’s a piece of jewelry, it’s not about telling time.

Friends don’t lend friends some things. Watches are just one of them!

My dad - who was my hero - had a huge appreciation for anything mechanical and to him, a mechanical watch was the ultimate marvel of mechanical function. And he passed that appreciation on to me.

Sounds like you haven’t found the right watch. Borrow a cool watch from a fried for a week and live with it every day. This is the same discussion as manual versus a good auto trans.

Let’s see if I can take a crack at it.
