Watch the NO BS video, and Keith Codes Twist Of Wrist. You might learn something.

Now playing

This is the NO BS bike. It shows the rider grabbing a second set of handlebars that are isolated from the steering stem of the motorcycle. He’s not just shifting his weight, he’s yanking, leaning, doing everything he can to move the bike - the best he can do is tiny changes in direction.

There is a ton of misinformation in the comments. Leaning and shifting of body weight does NOT steer a motorcycle, only inputs into the handlebars do. That’s a fact, and it’s called countersteering. There are no other ways to steer a bike, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong. If you think you’re steering your bike

Leaning has absolutely nothing to do with steering a motorcycle, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Factual information, not opinion.

You can NOT counteract steering inputs at the handlebars by shifting bodyweight. Shifting your weight does nothing when it comes to steering - it’s all on the handlebars.

Shifting your body weight has nothing to do with steering a motorcycle. It’s all in the handlebars. It’s called countersteering.

Not true at all.

Wrong. Countersteering at speed only takes small inputs into the handlebars to turn. No amount of shifting your body will counteract the inputs at the handlebars. It’s countersteering 101. At highway speeds you can press the handlebars with a finger and start a turn.
