To be fair, it’s not only white female celebrities that use the “it’s sexist!” defense whenever they face any criticism at all. I’ve seen it in “feminist” spaces such as this blog, and in a lot of other places. Feminism doesn’t mean that women can’t be criticised.

I sure hope they don’t cut his screen time in post when they realize the other characters are more important to telling the story.

Congratulations for the Dorothy Everton Smythe award!

I guess there won’t be a

It’s just a coincidence that she was fine discussing intimate scenes with a white co-star, even being open to improvising, and left a Black lead entirely out of the (shouted) discussion of how disrespected she felt about being asked to show bare shoulders in a scene with her character’s husband.

Missed the big one in the lowlights, Warner giving Snyder and his vitriolic stans what they wanted and tens of millions of dollars to finish his VERY questionable “vision.”

I used to be a daily AV Club reader—dating back to before the AV Club was even online. The quality of writing, the thoughtfulness, the humor—it was all second to none.

Good lord. Everyone is autistic these days. It’s the new ADHD, but less overmedicated. If you’re a lawyer then you’re on a “spectrum” of autism that is meaningless. You’re just like everyone else. Claiming fucking minstrelsy is about the most offensive thing I could imagine. You think you can lay claim to the wildly

You think that there are “thousands” of trans actors out there that can actually act? What world do you live in? Do you know how hard it is to even find a half decent actor at all? Then you’re narrowing it down to fractions of a percentage of available actors. There are very, very few trans people in the world, less

You presume the film is trivializing the portrayal.

His essay really concludes well, and I’m glad he was able to write this. But honestly, can we never hear about Heroes again? Just never.

Maybe this story has nothing to do with Whedon, maybe Freeform is experiencing financial difficulties. I cannot imagine a network I never heard of before gets particularly good ratings.

The show devolved into a mess rather rapidly, but I remember like the character of DL and wishing they had more to do with him.

I’m still mad they didn’t shave the cheerleader, like they promised.

So, Heroes was as awful to make as it was to watch?

I distinctly remember them putting out a story at the time that Roberts had only wanted a single year of work, which never sounded believable. And the way his character is killed off, gunned down by a random stalker because he inexplicably forgets his superpower to phase through things, really felt like it was going

guess he never learned to mind his surroundings

You misspelled douche

Results matter, your feelings don't. Sorry not sorry.
