I’m worried she is going to be punished mightily for it. She’s obviously past giving a fuck (which I admire) but it’s painfully obvious that her careful speech for years is the result of a particularly harsh NDA related to her settlement.

I’m not sure how we get your message out there but I think we need to try. Are you open to starting a church around your principles? I would like to be your first Bishop if so. I would also like to bring in as a major tenet that men not have sex with women who have not agreed to it. We could use similar logic as you…
We watched last night and my husband legit turned to me and said “DO YOU GUYS THINK OUR PENISES ARE UGLY”.
To repeat an earlier comment on the subject:
not to mention Rosanna Arquette, who’s entire family is in the industry
Paltrow & Jolie are from Hollywood families. If Blythe Danner’s daughter and John Voight’s daughter didn’t feel comfortable speaking up for fear of repercussions, what does that tell you about the level of power Harvey Weinstein had over the entertainment industry? I hope this illustrates for people how deep this…
I guess that this kind of treatment starts to feel normal to the victims after awhile? Especially in a place like Hollywood, where, let’s face it, it’s common. Plus, they know how powerful he was and that he’d sue them out of existence. Angelina Jolie said she warned everyone to not work with him and she personally…
I just read the New Yorker piece, and the common thread from everyone interviewed was how dirty and ashamed all the women felt. And that’s in their own head with the story NOT front page news. It takes a really strong person to want to tell that kind of story and have that kind of feeling publicly.
As you say, these men are running the world. What good does it do to speak up, in most cases?
This. Without exception, if you ask a limo driver, a bouncer, etc. (basically a “little person” who interacts with the jet set) who the most horrid celeb they’ve ever dealt with is, they say Donna Karan.
Donna creates sexy dresses that send the wrong message:
Aside from her designs being fucking hideous she has a reputation both within the industry and out for being an asshole. This comes as no surprise.
DKNY has made a bit of a come back in recent years. Hopefully, stores that stock/collaborate with DKNY will rethink that (e.g. Opening Ceremony) but I doubt it.
Personally, I could never separate DKNY from Edina Monsoon enough to take it seriously.
Donna Karen is just mad because guess who won’t buy her clothes? Young, fashionable women that like to show off their bodies. The only people who buy her stuff nowadays are dowdy rich old women who hate everything, including color.
Reminder - he wasn’t fired because of his behavior. He was fired because the public found out about it.
You’d be surprised. Soap does one thing, cleans skin. They’re basically all the exact same product so this is the type of shit companies resort to in order to stand out and differentiate. It’s basically how advertising was born.
Yes: somebody has been hired to make sure a brothel is worthy of O.J. Simpson.
Fucking Trump. Not bad enough to make the people there suffer from his neglect but then he thinks it’s amusing to mock them, too.
I don’t watch Suits but a few months ago I was talking to a co-worker about Scandal. And we were both saying how we don’t like it as much as we used to. Then I said but I still love her suits. And he thought I said I still love Suits and started talking about that show. It took me a minute to realize the confusion and…
