Unions are not reserved only for skilled labor. Expendability does not preclude employees from unionizing, also.
They’re probably not actual contractors, although the protection afforded to employees has been steadily eroding. Just because they’re classified by the employer as contractors doesn’t mean they fit the IRS definition, but people have to actually know that.
Just because they’re called contractors doesn’t mean they are. The IRS has consistently demonstrated this. If they aren’t setting their own hours and bringing their own tools (along with a litany of other factors), they’re not IC’s.
Fucking unionize. That’s the only way you level the playing field. The decline in unions has directly correlated to the shrinking middle class and steadily falling standard of living in this country. UNIONIZE.
