I think you misunderstand the actual scene. It has been misrepresented and even straight up lied about quite a bit, so that’s not your fault.

if she is a reincarnation of The Hero, which is what every Link has been, then yes she is exactly just a female Link.

but... Zelda IS a girl. Always has been.
