The first 3 things you do after starting the game are 1. the "shoot maurice" sequence, which teaches you that guns are in the game and can be used. 2. a hacking sequence that shows you how to use the environment to solve problems and 3. an insta-fail stealth sequence that shows you how to escape without being seen. In

What are you talking about? His niece was killed. I swear, people today have no sense of perspective, only their own viewpoint. From my point of view, yeah, Maurice had it pretty rough and I sympathize, but I'm also not the person Aiden is, where my young niece was killed before my very eyes. Also, I really don't

He never came after Aiden alone, though. He targeted his family. He targeted the little girl. I imagine Aiden would look at this an ENTIRELY different way, if they'd just come after him, or even just tried to fuck with him. Fire a warning shot or something.

I'm not done with this site yet, but I'm getting there. It seems that it's just full of fanboys who enjoy ranting against things that are similar to their favourite things. It's become a place for Sony/Nintendo fanboys to pat each other on the back.

Who ever said you wouldn't use guns in the game? This game gives you lots of options to avoid guns, but you will have to use them eventually. Why would you think you don't? That choice is removed a few times in the game I don't understand why there is this assumption that you can always do one or the other.

And what about the white people that are illiterate? Or the white homeless bum? I'm ever so deeply offended by that! *rolls eyes*

One of primary groups you'll be fighting is a gang called "The Black Viceroys," a group of tech-savvy project hoods who embody blackness in the most uninteresting and trope-y ways imaginable. These guys talk ceaselessly about bitches and hos; they call each other "B" and say "sheeeit!" with regularity. "You there B?"

Well when I played through AC3 I felt like the core game was definitely lacking in direction. Mostly because the diversions (hunting, trading, crafting) were all poorly explained and boring, so I skipped over them. It would have been better for some of those activities to be cut to focus on polishing the primary

Only one black character gets anything resembling character development; the rest exist simply to kill or be killed, or occasionally to engage in sexual assault while on camera. Toward the end of the game, I pondered just how many of Chicago's young black men I'd helped Aiden Pearce murder. A hundred? Five hundred? A

@ DML897 Thank you ! totally agree with you

And you're done, Kotaku. If Watch_Dogs didn't even rate high enough to rate a 50% on your binary yes/no black/white review system, then it shows that your opinions once again do not mesh with my own, and should therefore not be used as a barometer.

You've effectively said that Watch_Dogs is just as good as Amazing

AMEN. funny thing - as soon as I saw that Kotaku didnt get a review copy but other prominent game sites (such as joystiq) did made it pretty clear we were going to get a negative review. Follow the trail.

Yeah i've really enjoyed the game so far, I don't understand all the negativity.

Oh that's why I brought it up. I agree with it! That being said, not enough of a reason to shit on a game IMO.

This is one of the worst reviews I've read on this site. And that's not to comment on Kirk's reviews as a whole because usually I agree with most of them. Clearly you're playing the game wrong. Can't tell you how many times I escaped areas or infiltrated a secured building without shooting a single bullet. Helicopter

Yeah, I am enjoying it too. A lot of the missions remind me of Far Cry 3 in which you have to take over an outpost. Except in Watchdogs you have even more tools to case the joint, distract and kill people. Or try to not kill people and just get in and hack whatever you are supposed to (or hack a person with your

You realize pretty much every single game made had a review embargo right?

I too am really enjoying WD, so much more than GTA5.

I disagree I have enjoyed the crap outta the game, it feels more like people are jumping on it for the sake of jumping on it. Also using the minority thing as a negative seems like its here because it was a thing recently and kotaku wants to make a, we don't like that statement. There or tons of people with the same

Correction: Never get a game based on a review, get it based no your own gameplay.
