To agree with tom dunne, the guy they should have been head of story all along was Dave Filoni. He has a better grip on this than anyone I’ve seen (outside of Gareth Edwards, but he only has Rogue One, while Filoni has The Clone Wars and Rebels).

I know there was no chance of it appearing on this list, but Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners is my favorite anime romance of all time. It mostly focuses on mysteries, but the romance plot is so freaking good. All eight movies are on Crunchyroll and Amazon Prime.
