Kirk: I know you don’t have a brother. You never told me about a brother.
Kirk: I know you don’t have a brother. You never told me about a brother.
I don’t get the hate for Insurrection. It was a pretty decent two-part episode of TNG.
I wonder if you read anything about the makers of this show....
its basicly a boat full of trek fans.
To be fair, DS9 already showed us that the Ferengi were the Roswell Incident...
Actually, there’s a split. Paramount (owned by NuViacom) as the rights to Star Trek films, under license from CBS (oldViacom). CBS can make TV shows. In other words, CBS can do what it wants on TV, and doesn’t have to line up with the Abrams stuff.
God, some Trek fans are whiny. The show hasn’t even aired a single episode, and people are already acting like the showrunners stabbed their puppy. Star Trek has a LONG history of introducing new family members, often without a single preceding hint of their existence. Kirk’s brother, sister-in-law and nephew in one…
It’s not the Kelvin timeline. We know for a fact this is the Prime universe.
Considering some of the quotations that have come out, like yesterday’s “You can’t say ‘God’ in the 23rd century,” or some of the design choices regarding the Klingons... maybe...
Considering the producers include a number of Trek vets, I think they at least have some idea what they’re doing.
Oh look... iO9 writers/commentators shitting on Star Trek YET A FUCKING GAIN...
1) The Borg one was a misstep yeah, but the fact remains that First Contact already fucks up that ship.
You know where Dan hangs his hat when he is in London ...?
Nor is it the same as “condemning.”
I have no idea what you mean.
Except all of those things are depicted as being bad.
You were given information about what something is.
No, that’s still a judgement. It’s just one you’re fine with making.
They hoped it was the best show ever, so that they would have an excuse to laugh at people. Which they are already doing now, they just want to justify their shitty behavior.
Portraying the confederacy as having won the civil war and existing to this day with slavery intact IS portraying the confederacy in a positive light.
The concept is all we have to go on. So yeah, people are going to judge that.
