I’ve been into roleplaying since 2004. The animosity between Gygax and Arneson was already known within the gaming circles I joined. From reading I’ve done since then, some roleplayers have been aware of these disputes since at least the 1980s when Arneson filed his suits for royalties. Ken Hite was certainly aware of

Eh, this dispute has literally been a thing for decades.  Just no one wanted it to interfere with the narrative that had been constructed.  Hell, it was a topic of discussion in the hobby shops I frequented back when Edition 2 was the brand new ruleset.

Did you see the season 2 premiere? They’re definitely moving away from the darkness of the first season, there were a few jokes and lighthearted moments, and Pike is infinitely more likable than Lorca. It felt much more like classic Trek, but very action oriented. I’m hoping that’s just for the premiere and there

This new series has such a dark, depressing feel, watching it felt like a chore. I love my grim and bleaker scifi franchises (looking at you 40k), but this just feels like it isn’t even Star Trek.

Spock finally learned of Sarek’s unspoken love for him in the Next Generation episode “Unification II” (but sadly, after Sarek had died).

A big reason I like Star Trek (TNG in particular) is the sense of wonder and optimism that permeates the shows. The Federation is basically a utopia, and the Enterprise’s goal is to explore simply for the sake of discovery. While every series had its share of dark moments, the overall vibe was a positive one. This new

It definitely is but it’s also not completely practical in fields that use it as a major networking tool, or any slightly public facing occupation. I think learning how to better hold your tongue is probably a good skill but I also think the reason for that is less “people can’t be trusted with their own words” and

Yeah, I am definitely going to be paying attention to the Reddit threads going forward.

It’s a checkered history, but certainly the recent history has been pretty good about passive openness to variety.

This.

Before anyone starts bitching about SJWs and movements for inclusivity hurting their pretendy-funtimes without remembering that, ultimately, DnD is a game based around cooperation:

They can’t imagine anyone was born before them.

As I mentioned above, used-book stores nearly always have some or all of the volumes pretty cheap (paperbacks of individual volumes for around a dollar), and I’ve found them in thrift shops for a quarter.

I'm pretty sure it's actually possible -_- it can happen as a sympathetic reaction to their female partners breastfeeding (wtf right?) and excessive stimulation but it's not common. Keep trying though :P
