Just saw this on Twitter:

Nobody dies when they re-cast Starbuck as a woman.

Are people really all that hung about the gender still? I mean, really? It feels like the BBC is making more of a ‘brave new world’ fuss about this than it’s really worth. They should be ashamed that they snubbed 50% of Britain’s acting talent for this long.

This is the one character who has built-in the ability of being literally anyone! In fact, him coming back time and time again as a white man is what is contradictory with the character’s nature. So these bleeding heart delicate snow flakes can fuck off to their safe spaces to protect their hurt fee-fees. I for one

“At a later stage, Dr Who would be metamorphosed into a woman.” - Sydney Newman [Creator of #DoctorWho], speaking in a @BBC letter in 1986.

Even if those who oppose having a female Doctor aren’t misogynist as they claim (they are), I don’t know if having such shitty capacity for imagination about your favorite speculative fiction is much better.

A someone just said on t’radio “We’ve had women doctors in hospitals for over 100 years...”.

Hey - they didn’t even used to have SEATBELTS on the ships back in the day! XD

At this point it’s safe to assume this is some total reboot or new continuity or wait....who fucking cares. Just roll with it people. You haven’t even seen the show yet. This show’s development has brought out the worst in the neo-fan set, the internet hate-hive. You are the Borg.

Agreed. I’ve seen this many times including multiple times here at iO9. A ton of people have already decided they aren’t going to like the show and it will be completely unsurpising when they don’t like it. They are setting it for failure by refusing to give it a fair shot. Instead they’ll go in expecting to not

Sigh, despite my best efforts I’m kind of getting excited. My expectations aren’t sky high or anything, but I enjoyed the trailer, and unlike a lot of people (and don’t get me wrong, I understand why people are like this, zero disrespect) I don’t really care about timelines and whether it all fits together nicely

And that’s a point of contention as well. The notion of Apple doing fewer things, better.

What is with people like you who assume zero intelligence of other forum-goers?

No, they preferred the trendy thing that only the rich kids could afford. (And yes, it was precisely that. I was in school at the time and saw it happening.)

Short story: no.

“Second off, this is always Apples game, and it has never been a winning formula over the long run.” Over the long run, Apple’s formula has made them the most valuable public company in the history of the world, and will likely push them to a record trillion-dollar valuation in the next year. Their cash on hand, about

Omni Magazine meant a lot to me because when I was young my father would buy them for me.
