I sold our 2005 Subaru Outback XT Limited to a guy back in Sept 2022 (SW Ohio). I told the guy it came with two sets of wheels and tires (factory 17” wheels with A/S and Forester 16” wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak WS80). In his infinite wisdom he basically told me I wasted my money and wasn’t interested in the other

I can’t forgive people going to Tahoe for not being prepared when everyone knew the storm was coming. I can forgive the people around the lower elevations for being unprepared because it never snows in the Oakland hills or some of these other lower areas. It’s been crazy around here.

By contrast, all American pickups: “I am Putin. The left lane is Crimea.”

I, too, wish for a return of Audi’s less aggressive styling.

What an extraordinarily ignorant view on children and parenting. This may sound shocking, but tiny children often behave very differently from each other, regardless of the parenting method.

Does anyone know the history behind why we say we are “dumping” the clutch? We all say it, but why?

I’m sad that there’s not a better explainer for how the hybrid system works. No commentator on NBC explained much at all during the D24, even the pitstop “re-energizing” was only explained once during all my viewing. Do these cars only use it on the front axle? Is it for low speed acceleration? Overall all-the-time? A

I think he’s stopped doing the more dangerous stuff so presumably his wife learned something from all of them even if he didn't.

Fighterfighter here - not as much years in service - but yeah, the fire part doesn’t scare me - it’s the extraction and cutting into something we shouldn’t. Our area contains a mix of interstate and state highways. Most of our calls are around auto accidents because of them, and unfortunately most are recovery over

“What snitches deserve”?

Lets be clear, it is a “journalist” that is publicizing intentional acts of FRAUD.

Real criminals don’t do ticky tack shit like take their license plates. These people are just shitbags trying to get away with flouting traffic rules. Fuck them, he’s right. If you are so bad at driving that you have to edit your plate to keep from paying fines, fuck you and stop driving.

He’s exposing a massive corrupt part of NYC - their employees.

For all those decrying him as “vigilante”, a decent percentage of what he’s turning up sure seem to be municipal employees. Does not seem like “the system” is doing to well at dealing with them. As to no one being hurt. Right. Toll and traffic ticket avoidance hurts no one. Except those that do pay.

Fuck that. If I see a hit and run I am absolutely calling the cops.

Nephew has one of the Turbo-Charged Yamahas snowmobiles with 200+ HP with the optional tune. $18K with a warranty which he spent all summer getting them to validate after it blew up.

On the macro economic level, it is not great that people aren’t leasing.  On a personal finance level, these articles are right--leasing is typically a poor financial decision.  With the rise in leasing costs it has only gotten worse.

Covid followed by $6 gas would be my answer

More people are maintaining their vehicles than falling for (often) predatory lease offers?

Where would people get this idea???
