Actually considering WHERE we are I believe this is the perfect meme

So... uh... this?

My old boss had a Harley and a wardrobe full of H-D clothing, boots, gloves, etc. She was complaining about how she needed new boots and how expensive they were to replace. I joked that it costs a lot of money to make sure everybody knows you have a Harley.

Lifestyle brands have to eventually piss off their core audience to survive.

A storied, truly American company that our kids will know only as a vestige of American automotive history. The logo will appear on electric scooters and bicycles made in China and sold in Wal-Mart.”

Exactly. The people behind the Tesla are also looking beyond the Tesla- with an open road they would not be overly concerned about being packed into that road like sardines (becoase let’s face it, it you followed from 5 car lengths behind the Tesla doing 50mph, you would have 3 cars pass you on the right and get right

Jesus fucking christ.

Absolutely, the Tesla is still very much in the wrong here. I just get tired of seeing people drive with the mentality of filling all the empty space in front of their car, and then treating pileup crashes (usually due to weather) as an inevitability.

According to the earlier article linked up top, the police could not *and would not* make that determination, as Tesla would have that information.

Alright, I was on the Tesla bashing train for a good while when this news broke, but now that I watch the video I see less “FSD is to blame!” than hundreds of people being used to following too closely while traveling too fast and being distracted.

Were they inside a Model 3 that was inside the Model Y that’s being reported on?

Snow/winter tires are in issue. I spend a lot of time all around the Buffalo, NY area and its like anywhere else in the country. At most 10% of people put on winter tires. Majority just go with all-seasons, and a good 10% or more have tires with so little tread they are not safe in any condition, let along snow.

I worked with a guy who grew up in N. Dakota and he told me about the winter survival gear that everyone carried in their car. Made a lot of sense.

It would be interesting to see the After-Action Report, or AAR. How many of the stranded vehicles had winter survival kits? How many had proper winter tires? How many of those drivers absolutely had to be on the road? Was their enough media blitz warning against this (through FB, social media, TV, radio, etc.)? If so,

GIANT TRUCKS 100%, they make it almost terrifying to back out of a parking spot because you need to get about70% of your car in the lane before you can even see anyone coming.  Also narrow parking spots.  I don’t have a huge vehicle, though it is a full sized sedan, but when you have to swing all the way to the

NHTSA sets minimum requirements, but meeting them doesn’t give you any kind of immunity. Also I think Super Duty trucks are exempted from most NHTSA requirements because of their weight.

I guess but the Lucid was the fastest production car EVER around Laguna Seca. It beat the Ferrari LaFerrari by like 2 seconds. If you’re talking about driving capability and cornering, this <$200k family sedan beat a $1.4 million supercar.

Counterpoint: I’m willing to bet the number of owners that have the balls to take it to 250 is in the single digit percentages.

I am hopeful that the “look at me, I can accelerate fast” way of measuring performance will be a thing of the past and performance be moved to more than that.

You are correct. The turn signal sounds is played over the left front speaker. But, the amp is still powering all speakers so I guess they hiss a little.
