Ha. I’m one of the weirdos who loves winter, all the more since moving to DC and being subjected to the trash swamp people call summer in this city. I like about two weeks of summer, dry heat only, preferably if I’m on vacation, and then I’m done with that shit. I recently found out there’s such a thing as reverse-SAD

I hate the “just add layers” response. When I add layers I end up overheated and sweating in my core with hands, feet, and a face that feel like they’re about to get frostburn and fall off. It’s nothing but pure discomfort.

Damon I heard you on NPR this morning! I didn’t get to hear much of what you were saying as I was trying to wrangle a 6th grader out the door to take him to school. The topic sounded like it waswhite tears”. Anyway, glad you’re gaining professional traction and yes, being cold sucks and I don’t miss living in

My husband wanted to have children. I didn’t want to have children because I was afraid that I would continue the circle of abuse. I went through two years of psychotherapy to make sure that I would not treat my children the way that my mother treated me.

I agree on that. Good parents question themselves, seek guidance from a variety of sources and generally just give a crap. Terrible parents never ask themselves of what they are doing is right or wrong.

Funny part is, people like us (who acknowledge out faults) would probably make the best parents. Because we are aware of our shortcomings and actively want to ensure they don’t cause problems. That awareness is SO FUCKING RARE and often absent from parenting discussions.

I really enjoyed this season. For once, it wasn’t just a bunch of relationship drama, hookups and mess. I liked that they delved into the characters motivations a bit.

I think they stretched the timeline a bit, but it’s possible. There were 3 months between the end of S1 and S2, and only a couple of weeks between S2 and S3. If we’re going by Tiffany’s pregnancy (assuming she was past her first trimester at the end of S2), it could be around a year from S1 to now.

I think what they showed this season was a deeper dive into a lot of characters and how their prior interactions have led them to the current state of their relationships (Issa & Daniel, Issa & Lawrence, Molly & Errbody). And a big part of this season was having a catalyst for change. With Issa, it was Nanceford.

My co-worker pointed that same thing out as well.

Great point about Molly.  I think the reason Molly hasn’t gotten it is that she thinks she has This Cause that trumps all.  In a roundabout way, Lawrence’s lack of motivation helped him, because he had nothing to hide behind.

Agree on everything said. However, a scene nobody mentioned that I thought was superbly executed in a subtle yet most glaring way was how Lawrence was really considering his dad’s speech about putting in the work—and considering it with Issa. But when she mentioned to him she had quit/decided not to do the festival

I don't mind Issa's romantic fuck-ups. Without them there is no show. What breaks my heart is when no lessons are learned. But with this finale, there is a glimmer of growth. I like that.

lol Chad is the best.

I really truly and honestly hate how quickly this season went. I’m going to have to rewatch it to understand the nuances that I know were packed in. Also can we just talk about the fact that I actually believed Nancefords tears???!!! That is some high yellow acting at its finest. Also i hope that Condola stays in the

I hope if Nanceford does stick around, they look at his depression in a real way. Mental health issues are so fraught in the Black community. It would be good to have Insecure address them.

Nathan is intriguing and I sincerely doubt Issa is done with him. A lot of us women have the Nurse Betty gene and want to help/fix our partners. I can see her getting sucked into his spiral pretty quickly actually.

Those people are grown! They were all at the shower...did Tiffany really “hook them up”??

In their after show wine down Issa equated this season as a transition season like The Wire season 2. That made sense to me until I remembered that The Wire had 12 60 minute episodes and Insecure only gave us 8 30 minute episodes. I do think they were able to piece together the season with a ton of what ifs but it

The theme this season appeared to be “Doing the work”
