The return of RTD has resulted in a greatest hits of representation that is going to blow the minds of the right wing commentariat.

It’s almost like they’re being completely dismissive of his nonsense.

A TV show taking a risk and going in a new direction isn’t the same as eating razor blades. Over emotional men need to calm down if they want to be able to have civil discourse about media.

No, what you are doing is constantly generalizing without any basis or proof while throwing around disingenuous metaphors. You’re, like most of us, falling victim to the echo chamber effect. If you want your argument to come off as less of a personal opinion masquerading as fact, try using “most people I know” or “in

The whole point is the meta commentary. Doing it the way you described absolutely removes that point, which makes it easier to view it as an alt version of Scott Pilgrim without any connection to the source material.

The problem is not the anime...but it’s of people who get angry that they got “hoodwinked” because they

Maybe we’d be less likely to assume angry straight white men if angry straight white men didn’t keep acting like that?

You can’t say it isn’t happening when South Park parodied it

“You’re wrong about what what “angry white guys” are upset about!”

It’s the fact that it’s EVERY. SINGLE. Franchise and adaptation.

Most “angry white guys who hate women, etc” aren’t upset that women can be heroes, or black people are replacing white characters, or that LGBT stories extist”

do you know in the Akira movie, Akira isn’t in it at all and is in fact, DEAD! Yet some how, he’s still relevant to the story! Crazy!

Nega Scott, a physical manifestation of all of Scott’s flaws, down to short gags

I always thought when the TV exec suggests that the characters on Itchy & Scratchy should be asking, “Where’s Poochie?” whenever he isn’t on screen was just a funny bit of absurdity. But I’m realizing that this was actually meant to placate an audience that genuinely wanted to know where Poochie went.

I couldn't get into Futurama because John Futurama never showed up *once*.

It actually says “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off” on the package.

See, this line of argument annoys me. Because it assumes documentaries are objective. As someone who has made and is making documentaries, just like feature films, the quality is all the over the place. Even good ones get stuff wrong. I could be here all day pointing out where Ken Burns goes wrong from time to time.

He also enjoyed San Dimas’ waterpark, Waterloo. Although you’d think the name would have unpleasant connotations for him.

This that Captain Crunch movie everyone keeps talking about?

No not a joke actually.  That really happened, Napoleon had some real health issues by Waterloo and he couldn't ride a horse and at one point was semi incapacitated/sleeping which led to Marshal Nay having to take command which led to a disastrous cavalry charge against squared formations.  Something Napoleon probably

He insulted the profession of historians so close enough. Saying yeah well you weren’t there so I can say whatever is maddening. Primary sources are people who were there. Yes there’s biases and issues but its not like we’re working with nothing.
