But I’m not the one complaining about not wanting to watch television shows that have been available for years, so...

If a movie is based on a book, the people who haven’t read the book ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE the same experience as those who have, for better and for worse. This is like that, except the source material is available in the same medium and the same location as the new thing.

The show’s pretty explicitly a sequel to earlier shows, though. It’s hard to be mad at Star Wars of all franchises doing this sorta thing.

A crawl would do the trick.

Now playing

That’s kinda... their problem though. One can watch The Mandalorian without having any knowledge of the dark saber lore. Or knowing nothing about the Night of a Thousand Tears. That doesn’t mean the experience isn’t more reach for those who do. That’s just life. You make choices; those choices have consequences and

I just think people are kinda bored with a lot of this stuff? Like especially the whole notion of reboots of something that just wound down a few years earlier. I mean, there’s been a Transformers movie every couple of years for the last 16 years. At some point it just gets old, regardless of the approach.

I saw a guy on Twitter who was angry that the movie wanted him to care about a Batman from what he angrily and hilariously described as an “underground” movie — like Burton’s Batman was a thing people watched in basements on 16mm.

Morning Spoilers for the foreseeable future:

I kinda feel like Warner Bros. was banking on the success of the Snyder Cut, because apparently there are things in The Flash that reference that version of Justice League and not Joss Whedon’s. At any rate there seems to have been this belief that the recut version would ignite a new wave of interest in the

In the Captain Carter universes she goes into the ice instead of Steve, so she’d be the same age as he is in the main MCU.

The clip, at least that opening clip, makes it sound a lot more lighthearted than genuinely being upset her cameo amounted to being quickly killed off

So even MORE tiny checks?

I was annoyed? Didn’t know that.

I was meant to be annoyed that a scene served the story being told, rather than stroking an actor’s ego or giving the audience another 10 minutes of mindless fanservice action to squee over?

This movie is like a supercharged magnet for the dumbest people on Earth.

Yeah, coupled with the line about crossing picket lines, it makes the House of the Dragon cast look like scabs, when no, they aren’t?

Meanwhile Elemental has slowly dragged itself past the flash. by the end of the weekend it should have outpaced it internationally.

This site is one of the few internet ones where reading the comments can be helpful.

I share your feelings about the show, but if you just skip the first movie and divorce it from the original, they’re fun action movies. I did the same thing with RDJ’s Holmes movies - once I decided they were about Action Victorian Detective and not Sherlock Holmes, they were perfectly enjoyable.

This article unsurprisingly left out a whole lot of actual backstory behind it.
