That’d be so boring.... So kinda perfect for them ;)

“Who is that!?! The head lizard lady from V was Jane Badler!” said the old man angrily shaking his fist at the sky.

In the comics they are not Nazis, “just” fascists. In the comics they are the result of lizards from space that landed on Earth thousands of years ago. Nazis have been part of Hydra and at one point The Red Skull took over with of goal of creating a 4th Reicht, but Hydra has always been about generic world conquest.

I like Max’s reaction.

James, you know as well as I do that Marvel are lying out of their ass when they say the plotline has “little to do” with politics. It’s just their way of making sure they don’t piss of Trump supporters who by comic books.

Yeah that’s the thing, in the Silver Age this kind of stuff happened all the time for one issue or two. Spider-Man didn’t spend a couple years with extra arms growing out of his midsection though.

“But even if Steve Rogers recovers, will Marvel Comics be able to recover from what they’ve done to Captain America?”

I am a big Snape fan and he is a super complicated character. Is he absolutely terrible to the kids? Yup. He’s also a deeply, deeply damaged person trying to atone for pretty much joining the Nazis at 18, getting the only person who ever cared about him killed, plus all that genocide complicity. AND his atonement

I’ve always thought it was pretty clear - Snape is a hero, but he’s not a nice person. Having a character be brave and heroic, whilst also being a tool, is a pretty mature concept for a series of kid’s books.

I hate the idea of the apologies more than I hate Snape. If you aren’t going to stand by your creative choices, why create?

And thus we all started talking about Harry Potter again. Excellent marketing, Rowling.

Ehhhh, I’m pretty sure he was hard on the kids because he hated them.

Why is she apologizing? Is this like, she’s sorry for the emotional impact it had on the readers or she’s sorry she made the decision? I hope it’s not the latter; Snape literally had no purpose left other than to protect Harry. His obsession with Lilly was so strong that after she died, he defected to his hated other

The fact that he’s so polarizing makes me like the character even more, *this* is how you know a character is well-written.

Snape’s a perfect example of how you don’t need to be a nice guy to be a good guy. Because he is a colossal jerk.

I say this with zero snark, which is VERY hard to convey via the snark-medium known as internet commentating, but did you read the books? Again, no way to ask that question without coming off dickish, but I’m not trying to be. Snape’s definitely two different characters in book v movie.

By Grabthar’s hammer, by the suns of Worvan, you shall be avenged... Snape.

The technology is better (much better, even), but ComiXology Unlimited is a bad service. MU is great because you can binge-read entire series. CU is designed to give you the first volumes of stuff for free, but then you have to buy the rest. I found it extremely frustrating and canceled before my free trial was up.

Prom night, all over again :/
