I met them once. They were dicks.

Wait wait wait . . . It’s Tron . . . But RED????????

I am VERY familiar with Prog, from my misspent youth. Mostly King Crimson and Yes and early Genesis.

There was both Love (in Palomar, Maggie and Hopey) and Rockets galore in that comic!

Oh man, I just nearly fell down a rabbit hole filled with Adam Ant, Japan and Spandau Ballet!

100% agree.   That is often an insurmountable challenge for books that are simultaneously super influential and super dated.

Agree on the movie. Wanted to like it so much, but . . . I’ve never gone back to it since the first watch. Not even once.

It is a 100% accurate portrayal of being a D&D player in the early 80's.

Dreamscape is a classic!

I might be going to see Dune2 in the theater just to get one of these Popcorn buckets!

You HAD to go and make this weird, didnt you?

It’s Dune. It is supposed to be weird.

Well they do have near instantaneous travel between planets, which is going to help, but yeah, it seems like a LOT in a very short amount of time.

I think it is a really good movie, but it also pulled a “It’s a Wonderful Life”.

Part of the problem is that to some degree this reflects the book. But the book balances the slow burn of the first half with a lot of palace intrigue regarding Jessica possibly being a traitor (which is why Thufir and Gurney miss Dr Yueh being compromised, they are sure it is Jessica), and the dinner party scene

The godfather is 100% better than the book.

The Mentats all got the short end of the stick in these movies.

The problem with the multiverse is that it is a concept that tends to take over narratives while at the same time removing all stakes for the stories.

I am also old.
