The problem is that the writing is very dated for all the female characters, few of them translate well to the world of the 2020's.
Lynch’s movie is pretty book accurate for the character though. She is primarily a mechanism for exposition who is then brought in at the end as a Deus ex Marriage solution for Paul to take over.

With Lobo he is playing a very different character, will be under a TON of CGI and likely is doing little more than an extended cameo or small role.
She did a fine job in a terrible movie, but that movie was TERRIBLE and why would they not take the chance to make a clean break from the overall bad DCEU?
