I think that is because of the Sequels failure. They clearly fell back to Filloni as the “Guy who knows Star Wars” and “knows what the Fans want”.

I always thought the parallel was less “Magic” and more Kung Fu or Wuxia with some buddhism thrown in for flavor.

And they show in THIS show that she couldnt even move a cup. Not even make it wiggle.

That’s great for you, I guess, but most viewers are going to be pretty unsatisfied by this and that could be bad long term for Star Wars.

It wasnt earned though. She trained with Ahsoka for a few days TOPS in the show. And that training wasnt for moving objects because the character isnt there yet. She barely had a connection to the force.

Agreed on the not killing her, that would have been far worse.

It would have been nice if they were introducing this Triad, ie the Mortis stuff, for them to, you know, MENTION it.

As an introduction to “the Triad” this was terrible though. Most viewers will have no idea what those statues were, and the show didnt bother to tell you.

I was thinking it was a ton of Marrok style suits giving Thrawn an army of lightsaber weilding supertroops to build his army around.

Maybe. But that makes some big assumptions.

Filming ended in October of 22.  So there are no easy excuses for this.

How?

It is obvious that they are something to do with them, but they literally play no part in the show other than as a way to delay Thrawn from leaving.

The finale pushed me from generally liking the show, but not loving it and still being critical of it, to “WTF were they thinking???”

That is only clear if you are really really really into it.
