I’ll be honest, I have watched NONE of the Sony non spiderman films. So I cannot really comment on Madame Web, as I am not likely to watch it. But Sony gave away Spiderman to Marvel for a reason, and these films have not convinced me that they have learned anything from the experience of working with Marvel! I doubt

I think there is plenty of room for both Movies and TV for Star Trek.

I think that they should definitely do more Star Trek Movies along with the TV shows.

Zachary Quinto Is Still Hopeful for a Star Trek 4"

Well, that really goes back to the 50's and Savitri Devi, but Pre Internet, you kinda had to go looking for it, so the effect was contained somewhat.  The Behind the Bastards Podcast does a good overview of her and he general awfulness and her long term effects on the world.

I agree, though I doubt it was intentional. Probably just sounded cool to them.

I think in Dune he handles the action better as well (as compared to BR).

The Wizard : Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga.” is the opening narration.

BR2049 was visually gorgeous and lush, and leaned into DV’s strengths, and weaknesses, as a director.

The movie is so bad that even actors/celebrities I really like such as Jones and character actor Tracey Walter, heck even Wilt, were almost unwatchable!

I cannot wait until the sequel to this comes around, where they have to explain how it all went off the rails and they made a sequel to Conan the Brarbarian that was absolutely terrible.

Comment I was responding to says “Since Disney bought them,”. If you read what I wrote, it refers to Disney purchasing them in my post’s second line.

Oh no, It’s pretty clear recently that the Republican party prefers a “con man” to a straight one . . .

I dont think that tracks.

This really needs a tag line like: “Sloth is the DEADLIEST sin!”.

Trickle down theory? Really?

“DC/WB just needs a hit movie.” and “I think David Zaslav is desperate for a hit with an actor/actress with a previously existing built-in audience”.

I think Louie’s points down thread where he mentions that we’ve heard this before. First when TV came in, then again when Cable came in. And now we are hearing it again with Streaming.

re: “Also Gordan and James were pretty lazy today.”

Yeah I saw it on TV at some point in my early teens. Was not a Fan and didnt realize it was supposed to be a comedy AT ALL. Until I looked it up today!
