Yeah, it would appear (from North American Motoring forums, MotoringFile comments, Facebook fan pages, etc) that there is not a lot of love for the new version of MINI amongst the previous gen and earlier owners.

And I think MINI's seeing that (hoping) with their horrible recent sales numbers.

But even those grew in size between models. Cars are always getting bigger. All of them.

Hey buddy... I like the Gen 3... I like them all. Once the GTS came around, the coupe was far better looking than any convertible.

To be fair, it's a little difficult to figure out where the generation changes occur with the Ford Super Duty as well. They keep changing the fenders and fascia but the cab seems to be the same as it was 15 years ago. What constitutes a generation change and what equates to just a refresh?

Gen 1 was the original side-exhaust RT-10...Gen 2 came and went with the GTS, the best thing they ever did. I guess at that point they decided the GTS was too good-looking, and so created the bland SRT10 Gen 3 which just kind of wallowed for a while until they realized they were in trouble and kicked off Gen 4, which…

So much sad with this. The owner is a terrific guy who took meticulous car of this car (until that last moment, that is). It was a stout beast, though, and protected him well.
