Hey, that fake car is nearly this fake car

A++++++++++++++++++++

The taillights on the new one are GIGANTIC. I mean it's a styling thing, but it's weird.

My wife has a 2012 hardtop (it's our practical car, haha) and she hates the new one. So she's hoping hers will last forever.

Wasn't aware of that, I'll have to look into it!

I don't mean iQ/Smart size, just a smaller wheelbase to cut away the ~5 inches that were gained in 2014. Here, it might go against Fiat 500, but it would be driven by competition in global markets, where the segment is more competitive. I'm surprised that Europe is okay with the size increase.

They do. When the Civic got too flabby, Honda offered the Fit. When the 3-Series got too jumbo they brought out the 1/2-series. Focus —> Fiesta.

I'm not bitching about the Countryman, but I wish the regular hardtop hadn't gotten so big. They don't really offer a small one now, which is frustrating for people that grew accustomed to the size of the 2003-2013 models.

...less fugly when it's upside-down

That's true, it gets weird sometimes, that's a great example!

Haha, do you remember the controversy, that the person who styled the Gen3 was hired from Toyota and had styled the Camry and Corolla? [Source, fourth paragraph] It's not a death sentence but it doesn't help.

You and I are on the same page! I thought the Gen 3 was awful, and the "gen-4" was what's known in the rest of the industry as a "refresh" but something Dodge/SRT calls a "new generation." You summed it up well and, yes, the first GTS was the best of the bunch.

Fifth-generation Viper? There are three-generations. *Maybe four*, if you want to separate the first RT/10 and GTS-and-later models, which I hear have many structural differences.

This!

Most defensive comment I've ever read on Jalop! :thumbsup

Can BMW issue a recall of all BMW M4 drivers?

that would be very interesting!

Perfect

Here's what happened: the people that write the 2014 rules for the FIA had no foresight that penis-noses would happen, so when they were found by the teams to be a viable solution aerodynamically, the FIA was blindsided. Now the have some jargon that justifies their ruling that penis-noses are banned next year.

I actually like Sport buttons. With modern cars built to achieve every possible MPG gain, plenty of everyday vehicles have the throttle response tuned to be glacially slow-and-steady. This helps gas mileage, I guess, by smoothing out a driver's erratic throttle inputs, but it makes it feel numb and slower than it
